One of the top prospects of this year’s NBA Draft revealed that he could still grow two more inches.
Nate Ament of the Tennessee Volunteers recently spoke with Andscape’s Marc J. Spears. Ament shared that a doctor told him that it’s possible for him to add two more inches to his 6-foot-9 and a half frame.

Ament is an intriguing prospect with a Top 5 potential before an up-and-down campaign for Tennessee. He averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists, but he only shot 39.9% from the field.

Speaking to Heavy’s Sean Deveney, one scout shared an insight on Nate Ament following his freshman season with Tennessee. The scout liked that Ament returned from a sprained ankle, but he’s a prospect that needs time to develop.
“Up and down year for him,” the scout said. “It was good he came back after getting hurt (ankle injury in late February), but there’s a lot of question marks there. He’s a shooter at 6-foot-10, though, and he showed enough to keep him in the lottery (range). You just have to trust that you can develop him.”
Ament is currently projected to be a lottery pick, though he could still fall off depending on his performances in the NBA Draft combine.
Heavy’s mock draft has him going to the Chicago Bulls at No. 15. The Bulls received the pick from the Portland Trail Blazers as part of the 2021 trade involving Larry Nance Jr., Lauri Markkanen and Derrick Jones Jr.
The Bulls also have the No. 4 pick in the NBA Draft. They have a shot at securing Cameron Boozer or Caleb Wilson. They could even get Darryn Peterson depending on how the first three picks go down.

It’s going to be an interesting summer for the Milwaukee Bucks due to Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s future. The Greek Freak is seemingly ready to part ways with the Bucks, so the franchise can look forward to rebuilding.
The Bucks have the No. 10 pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, and Yahoo! Sports’ Kevin O’Connor urged the franchise to take a chance at Nate Ament.
“Players who can handle, shoot off the dribble, and stand at 6-foot-10 don’t grow on trees,” O’Connor wrote. “This physical foundation kept Ament in lottery consideration even after a dreadful start to his freshman season when he struggled to score efficiently and make an impact defensively.”
O’Connor added that Ament played really well during a six-game stretch in January and February before spraining his ankle. He averaged 23.8 points before struggling after returning from injury.
