Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox named the Seattle Seahawks a potential suitor for New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte.

The Seattle Seahawks selected a wide receiver during the second half of Day 3 in the 2026 NFL Draft. But a lot of draft pundits proposed the Seahawks could pursue a receiver on Day 2. After not doing that, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox argued the Seahawks are a potential landing spot for a wideout on the trade market — Kayshon Boutte.

Knox labeled the Seahawks, along with the Las Vegas Raiders, a potential suitor for the Patriots receiver.

“Kayshon Boutte, a 2023 sixth-round pick, has arguably overachieved. The New England Patriots receiver has topped 500 receiving yards in each of the past two seasons,” wrote Knox.

“However, Boutte is entering a contract year and could be moved. The Patriots signed Romeo Doubs in free agency and are widely expected to make a push for Philadelphia Eagles wideout A.J. Brown later in the offseason (more on that later) …

“Teams that didn’t land the desired receiver help during the draft could pivot back to Boutte now.”

Boutte has eclipsed the 500-yard receiving mark each of the past two seasons behind strong efficiency. In his NFL career, he been a big-play threat, averaging 14.9 yards per reception.

During 2025, Boutte posted 33 catches, 551 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He averaged 16.7 yards per reception.

Knox projected the Patriots wideout to be worth a 2027 sixth-round pick on the trade market.

Could Seahawks Pursue WR Kayshon Boutte?

Seattle didn’t completely neglect receiver in the 2026 NFL Draft. During the sixth round, the team grabbed Kansas wideout Emmanuel Henderson Jr.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, though, hyped Henderson as more of a special teams contributor at the NFL level. The former Jayhawks receiver could have a future in the league covering punts and returning kicks.

If the Seahawks are serious about adding another offensive weapon, Boutte could be a possibility.

Boutte may be the odd-man out in New England with the team adding Romeo Doubs and potentially A.J. Brown. If the Seahawks could acquire Boutte for the same draft value as they used on Henderson, the team would add receiver depth without jeopardizing next year’s draft class.

NFL insider Albert Breer reported the Patriots were seeking a Day 3 pick during the draft for the big-play receiver.

Seahawks WR Depth Entering 2026 NFL Offseason Workouts

Seattle has a pretty crowded receiver room, which is likely why the team didn’t make wideout a bigger draft priority.

This offseason, the Seahawks retained both free agents Rashid Shaheed and Jake Bobo. The league’s leading receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and veteran Cooper Kupp, will be back for Seattle too.

The Seahawks also still have last year’s preseason sensation Tory Horton and veteran Cody White.

Even though Boutte might not cost much in draft value, for the Seahawks to be interested, they will have to view Boutte as a roster upgrade over some of their other depth receivers.

Boutte is likely to make a bigger impact offensively than Bobo, Horton or Henderson. But Bobo is a key special teams contributor. Horton and/or Henderson could be too next season.

At receiver, the Seahawks also have Tyrone Broden, Ricky White III, Montorie Foster Jr., Michael Briscoe and Levi Wentz on the offseason roster. Seattle signed both Briscoe and Wentz as undrafted free agents.
