Several teams in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will begin the weekend with inspection penalties ahead of the ECOSAVE 200 at Dover Motor Speedway. NASCAR reporter Chris Knight reported Thursday that five trucks received penalties during NASCAR inspection before practice at the Monster Mile.

The Nos. 10, 11, 27, and 91 trucks will lose 10 minutes of practice time, while the No. 69 truck will sit for 20 minutes. NASCAR officials confirmed the penalties stemmed from single-inspection issues, not repeated failures.

Teams corrected the problems and later passed inspection. Even without larger penalties like points deductions or suspensions, the lost track time could still affect preparation for the NASCAR race at Dover. Practice laps are important at Dover because teams need time to adjust setups on the demanding concrete track before qualifying and race night.

NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Drivers Penalized at Dover Motor Speedway

Corey LaJoie and the No. 10 truck for Kaulig Racing were among the teams penalized during NASCAR inspection. LaJoie moved into a full-time NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series role earlier this season after years of racing in the Cup Series.

Kaden Honeycutt and the No. 11 team for Tricon Garage also received a 10-minute hold. Honeycutt has become one of the stronger young drivers in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and already owns a win at Watkins Glen this season.

The No. 27 truck driven by Toni Breidinger for Rackley WAR was also penalized before practice. Breidinger continues her partial NASCAR Truck Series schedule while gaining more experience at different tracks across the season.

Christian Eckes and the No. 91 truck for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing joined the list as well. Eckes returned to the organization in 2026 and continues working toward a playoff push in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series standings.

The largest penalty went to Dystany Spurlock and the No. 69 truck for MBM Motorsports. The team must sit out for 20 minutes during NASCAR Truck Series practice at Dover Motor Speedway.

Dover Motor Speedway Creates Bigger Challenge After NASCAR Inspection Penalties

Dover Motor Speedway, widely known as the Monster Mile, remains one of the toughest tracks on the NASCAR schedule. The one-mile concrete oval features steep banking and heavy tire wear, making setup critical for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race weekend.

Practice sessions at Dover Motor Speedway help teams adjust braking, suspension, and handling before qualifying. Losing practice time can hurt teams that still need to gather data or help drivers gain track comfort.

The penalties may affect developing drivers the most because every lap matters during a NASCAR Truck Series weekend. Teams now have less time to prepare for the ECOSAVE 200 at Dover.

NASCAR Truck Series Teams Prepare for Dover Race Weekend

NASCAR inspection penalties have become more common throughout the 2026 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series season as officials continue to enforce technical rules more closely across the garage.

No teams at Dover Motor Speedway received suspensions, crew chief ejections, or points penalties. However, the reduced practice time still creates another challenge before the green flag drops Friday night.

The ECOSAVE 200 opens a busy NASCAR weekend at Dover that also includes NASCAR All-Star Race activities. Teams will now focus on making quick adjustments and maximizing every remaining lap before the Dover race begins.
