The Braves are coming off a 5-2 win on Tuesday.

Ronald Acuña Jr. finished with two hits, one RBI and one strikeout in four at-bats.

Despite his showing on Tuesday, Acuña Jr. has gotten off to a slower start to the year.

Manager Walt Weiss spoke about the former MVP on Tuesday (via Alison Mastrangelo of WSB-TV).

Weiss: “He just hasn’t found that consistency where he gets rolling… It it will be loud when he does. I think he’s close, I do… He just hasn’t been clicking on a daily basis, but I do think that he’s real close… We can dream big if Ronald gets rolling.”

Those are encouraging words coming from Weiss.

Acuña Jr. is currently batting .248 with two home runs, nine RBI’s, 15 runs and six stolen bases in 30 games.

He is coming off a season where he made his fifth MLB All-Star Game.

The 28-year-old is in his ninth year (all with the Braves).

Braves Right Now

Despite Acuña Jr. not playing like a superstar, the Braves are still one of the elite teams in the MLB.

They are at the top of the National League East with a 21-9 record in 30 games.

At home, the Braves are 11-5 in the 16 games they have played at Truist Park.

Following two more games against the Tigers, the Braves will open up a new series on Friday when they visit the Colorado Rockies in Denver.

The Braves are coming off a challenging season where they missed the MLB playoffs for the first time since 2017.

They last won a World Series Championship during the 2021 season.

Weiss is in his first season at the helm.
