The Cleveland Cavaliers entered their second-round series against the Detroit Pistons as legitimate contenders. Led by Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, they have the star power necessary to make an NBA Finals run.

Unfortunately, through the first two games of their series against the Pistons, the Cavaliers have gone winless. They trail Detroit 2-0 after losing on Thursday night by a final score of 107-97.

Harden, in particular, has had a rough start to the series.

In Game 1, he scored 22 points on 6-for-15 shooting, including 1-for-7 from the three-point line. He also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out seven assists. Last night in Game 2, Harden scored just 10 points and shot 3-for-13 from the floor to go along with six rebounds and just three assists.

Needless to say, those are not the superstar numbers Harden normally puts up. However, there is a trend in the playoffs that is impossible to ignore.

ESPN’s Nick Wright Reveals Rough Stat for Cavs’ James Harden

Nick Wright took to X to share a wild statistic about Harden in the playoffs.

“Today was James Harden’s 182nd career playoff game,” Wright wrote. “It was the 36th time he’s had 3 or fewer made field goals. Nearly 20% of his career playoff games.”

The numbers didn’t stop there. Wright continued on, sharing another statistic that will blow the minds of some fans.

“It was the 46th time that he’s had as many or more turnovers than made field goals. More than 25% of his career playoff games.”

Harden has faced a lot of criticism for his playoff performances in years past. It appears likely that he’s headed for another harsh reaction from analysts and fans, especially if the Cavaliers end up losing to Detroit in the series.

James Harden Facing Serious Backlash From NBA Fans

It didn’t take long for NBA fans to jump into the comments section of Wright’s post. A lot of negative opinions were shared about Harden.

One fan commented, “And there’s actually people on here that think he’s better than DWade. Those people don’t know ball.”

“What a fraud man. His playoff legacy is forever tainted,” another comment read.

A third fan wrote, “If Harden just doesn’t play in this game, the Cavs win.”

“James Harden aging has never been louder than this series. The TOv stats is craxxy. Something needs to change,” a fourth fan said.

A fifth fan stated, “Is it fair to say hes been the worst playoff performer of all time?”

Game 3 between Cleveland the Pistons will be played on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET. Harden better come out with a much better performance or the reactions are going to get a lot worse.
