MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - MAY 08: Anthony Edwards #5 of the Minnesota Timberwolves reacts against the San Antonio Spurs during the first quarter in Game Three of the Second Round of the NBA Western Conference Playoffs at Target Center on May 08, 2026 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

With a win in Game 4 on Sunday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves tied their second-round series with the San Antonio Spurs 2-2, after yet another strong fourth quarter from NBA superstar Anthony Edwards.

Edwards suffered a worrying knee injury just over two weeks ago, and while it hasn’t held him out so far in the Timberwolves-Spurs series, there is an assumption that the 24-year-old is still dealing with the injury and isn’t 100% despite his team-leading performances.

Now, after their win over the weekend and heading into Game 5, for the second matchup in a row, the Timberwolves’ injury report is clean outside of featuring Donte DiVincenzo, signaling that Edwards is once again good to go as Minnesota hopes to take a series lead on Tuesday night.

Timberwolves Injury Report, Anthony Edwards Update

This is now the second game in a row that the Timberwolves haven’t featured on the injury report. It comes after the franchise centerpiece was either listed as questionable or out before each of their first eight postseason games in 2026.

However, while Edwards isn’t listed on the injury report this time around, based on his previous injury, which was a bone bruise and hyperextension in his left knee suffered in Game 4 against the Denver Nuggets, many believe the star still isn’t fully healthy.

Speaking on the Run It Back show, former NBA players Chandler Parsons and Lou Williams discussed how while Edwards continues to lead the Timberwolves, which was clear with his performance on Sunday night, that doesn’t mean he isn’t without some lingering health concerns.

“Whatever he’s dealing with, it looks like he’s getting better,” Williams said before addressing how he thinks Edwards is feeling overall. “He’s probably hurting today, trust me. He’s probably getting around the clock treatment.

Those on the show added that Edwards did head down the tunnel in the fourth quarter to get oxygen, but Williams added that as it relates to his knee injury, athletes don’t tend to think about that type of thing in the middle of a tight game.

Edwards returned from his injury in just nine days to play in the Timberwolves’ Game 1 against the Spurs. He was expected to be out for at least two weeks, but after a strenuous and quick recovery process, he only ended up missing Minnesota’s last two games against the Nuggets.

Now, while Edwards might not be 100% healthy and still dealing with the knee injury, he is leading the Timberwolves against a Spurs team that still has the second-highest odds to win the 2026 NBA Finals.

Edwards Carries Minnesota To Game 4 Win

GettyMINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – MAY 10: Anthony Edwards #5 of the Minnesota Timberwolves reacts after the victory against the San Antonio Spurs in Game Four of the Second Round of the NBA Western Conference Playoffs at Target Center on May 10, 2026 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Even with the apparent knee injury, Edwards led Minnesota to a Game 4 win with 36 points, 18 of which came in the fourth quarter alone.

The star, who later dedicated the victory to his late mother.

“Today is Mother’s Day,” Edwards said. “I just wanted to win for my mom. It was that simple.”

One of the leading storylines from the game was Victor Wembanyama‘s early ejection after elbowing Naz Reid. But even without the Defensive Player of the Year, Edwards said that didn’t guarantee a win, as the Spurs hung around until the final minutes of the contest.

“Honestly, I think it was kind of harder [without Wembanyama],” Edwards added. “Of course, they are a really great team with him on the floor, but they play a lot slower when he’s on the floor. It’s just like when every team is missing their best player and everyone [else] plays free, more confident.”

Edwards’ Game 4 performance put him on a few elite lists regarding NBA playoff history. He became one of just six players to score at least 300 fourth-quarter points before the age of 25, and now has the fourth-most 30-point playoff games before turning 25 years old.

Anthony Edwards (302 PTS) becomes the 6th player in the play-by-play era (1997-98) to record 300+ fourth quarter PTS in the postseason before turning 25!

Against a younger Spurs team, Edwards and the Timberwolves have more experience, and while the star still might be dealing with an injury, that wasn’t evident in the stat sheet in Game 4.

However, Minnesota faces a tough task ahead as they go back to San Antonio for Game 5, needing to win at least one game on the road to advance to their third-straight conference finals in a row.
