Spencer Pratt attends the Amazon MGM Studios “The Accountant 2” premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California, on April 16, 2025.

Spencer Pratt did not just show up at a Lakers game. He made sure people noticed.

The former “The Hills” star sparked a wave of reactions after TMZ shared footage and photos of Pratt inside Crypto.com Arena during the Lakers’ playoff run, where his night near the floor quickly became part celebrity sighting, part political bit, and part very Los Angeles spectacle.

LA mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt is sitting next to Linda Rambis in the second row here during Game 3

Pratt appeared to spend part of the game working the room from his seat, chatting with people around him while wearing a yellow “Los Angeles Pratt” hat designed in a style that closely resembled the Lakers’ famous logo.

That detail helped turn the appearance into more than a standard courtside cameo. Pratt has recently launched a run for Los Angeles mayor, and showing up at a Lakers game in campaign-style gear made the whole thing feel like an unofficial arena stop.

There was another Lakers-specific wrinkle, too. TMZ reported that Pratt was sitting near Linda Rambis, a longtime figure in Lakers circles and someone closely connected to team governor Jeanie Buss. That added a little extra intrigue to an already odd courtside moment.

In the TMZ clip, Pratt could be seen seated near the floor while cameras and fans quickly picked him out of the crowd. Social media users immediately flooded the comments section with reactions ranging from support to disbelief.

“I can’t believe super villain Spencer Pratt is even being considered to be Mayor of LA,” one fan wrote.

Another added, “Hold on a minute, Spencer Pratt is a serious candidate….for anything other than a ‘The Hills’ reboot?”

Others leaned fully into the moment, with one fan commenting, “Spencer for Mayor!!!” while another wrote, “I’m voting Spencer!”

The reactions quickly turned the courtside appearance into a viral social media moment as Lakers fans and reality TV fans collided in the comments section.

Lakers Games Continue to Draw Celebrity Attention

Celebrity sightings have long been a staple of Lakers culture, especially during the postseason.

From actors and musicians to influencers and former reality stars, courtside seats at Crypto.com Arena routinely become part of the conversation online, particularly when unexpected names appear during nationally televised games.

Pratt’s appearance stood out because it came at a time when both the Lakers and Los Angeles politics are generating major attention online.

The Lakers remain one of the most talked-about teams in basketball, while discussion surrounding Los Angeles leadership and the city’s future has become an increasingly viral topic on social media.

That combination helped Pratt’s courtside appearance gain traction far beyond the arena itself.

Spencer Pratt’s Mayor Talk Continues to Generate Buzz

Pratt has spent the past several weeks leaning into discussions about a potential Los Angeles mayoral campaign, something many fans initially assumed was a joke before the conversation began gaining wider attention online.

Pratt has continued embracing the viral attention surrounding his mayoral campaign. He even often responds directly to fans and engages with the viral reactions.

Some commenters on TMZ’s post fully supported the idea.

“Go Spencer!!! Make LA Better than it is!” one user wrote.

Others were far less convinced, with one person joking, “Did he bring his crystals?”

Another commenter wrote, “Jinxed Lakers,” while one fan added, “Vote for Spencer!!!!!!”

Still, the combination of Lakers playoff energy, celebrity culture, and Pratt’s growing online campaign chatter created exactly the kind of viral moment social media tends to run with.

And for at least one night, Pratt managed to turn a Lakers game into one of the internet’s strangest unofficial campaign appearances.
