Even with the Angels struggling at 15-24, you can never look past Trout. He leads the Halos with 11 home runs and a .940 OPS. He didn’t do much damage on Friday, which is a win in itself, but the Blue Jays’ pitching staff has to stay sharp to keep him from changing the game with one swing.

Toronto enters today at 17-21 and finally has a bit of momentum after snapping a losing skid. The bullpen situation is still a bit thin, though Jeff Hoffman’s recent usage suggests the team is still trying to find the right spots for him. With a rookie like Yesavage on the mound, the offence needs early run support so the high-leverage arms aren’t under the microscope late. Another win today would secure the series and start to turn the tide on a difficult start to May.
