The New York Knicks are doing more than just playing basketball at the moment — they are creating a masterpiece. Completing a dominant second-round sweep of the Philadelphia 76ers, New York has clearly become the new favorite in the Eastern Conference.
Furthermore, every forecast, every financial figure, and every statistic is showing the same story: this may indeed be the Knicks’ season.

According to a detailed financial breakdown by Sportico writer Kurt Badenhausen, the Knicks have already generated nearly $50 million in gross revenue from just five home playoff games, and the best may be yet to come.
Badenhausen quotes Seaport Research Partners analyst David Joyce, who covers the publicly traded Madison Square Garden Sports. “He estimates the Knicks earned $8 million per home game during the first round of the 2026 playoffs from tickets, suites, concessions and merchandise,” Badenhausen noted.
The best result would be simply amazing. Going through the East Finals in all seven games against the Cavaliers and then playing in the NBA Finals of at least six games could increase the Knicks’ total playoff revenue to almost $180 million, which is a huge increase from $115 million they made in last postseason.
Moreover, based on the 55% profit margin even after the NBA’s cut and expenses, each extra home game at the Garden is like striking gold. In fact, this is not only a championship pursuit but also a money-making phenomenon.

While the money talk is really exciting, the real vibe on court is even more electrifying. The Knicks didn’t just beat Philly, they dominated the whole series.
Currently, New York’s potential opponent would be the winner of the other bracket; Cleveland Cavaliers are going head-to-head with the Detroit Pistons 3-2 going to Game 6. If the Cavaliers win, they would be the Knicks’ opponent, and for the MSG accountants, a full seven-game series would be their ‘dream scenario’. However, the Pistons still have some fight left in them.
Nevertheless, Jalen Brunson and the Knicks would be regarded as the ECF heavy favourites. They have proved themselves time and again during this playoff run, and the fans at Garden can’t remember the last time they have been so lively for over 20 years.
