Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers has been plagued by injuries this season.

Heading into Game 7, the Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid remains on the team’s injury report against the Boston Celtics.

However, the Sixers are confident he’ll be able to play for the fourth game in a row.

The star center’s official status started as probable. The injury designation is just post-Appendectomy surgery recovery. There are no other setbacks lingering for the center, which is a positive sign, considering Embiid briefly left Game 5 with a knee concern.

Following the 76ers’ big Game 6 victory, an upbeat Embiid met with reporters and made his health stance clear.

“I tell my brain I feel amazing, so I feel amazing,” Embiid told reporters on Thursday night. “Hopefully, my brain understands it. Sometimes it’s hard. Your body tells you something different, but I feel amazing.”

Embiid is no stranger to battling through injuries–especially in the playoffs. In fact, it’s become the story of his career.

Knowing that the Sixers have a shot at potentially upsetting the Boston Celtics, who entered the postseason as the No. 2 seed, Embiid doesn’t seem to be letting anything hold him back at this point.

The Sixers Have A Real Shot

When Embiid made his playoff debut in Game 4, the 76ers held a 1-2 record.

In Game 4, Embiid produced 26 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. However, the Sixers lost 128-96. With their backs against the wall, the 76ers went into Boston and picked up a 113-97 win. Embiid produced 33 points, four rebounds, and eight assists.

Then in Game 6, the star center checked in for 34 minutes. He struggled with his shot, making just 33.3% from the field, but he still wrapped the game up with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Embiid came two assists shy of a double-double.

Game 7 between the Sixers and the Celtics is slated for a 7:30 PM ET tip. Barring any unexpected changes, Embiid should be good to go.
