Every Brilliant Thing, starring Daniel Radcliffe, has recouped its $5.75 million Broadway capitalization. 

It’s a big win for the show, as only the third production of the 2025-2026 season to announce recoupment out of more than two dozen commercial projects. The production recouped its investment in record time, less than two months after opening at the Hudson Theatre on March 12. 

The show is helped by the star-power of Radcliffe, who also does a lot of audience interaction in the pre-show and during the show itself, as he recounts creating a list of brilliant things to help cheer up his mother, and asks audience members to help shout out item as his character ages and the list evolves. The play also has relatively low running costs. Crowds have been flocking to see the show, with the play commanding the highest average ticket price in the industry for the past several weeks. The play recouped its investment in the week ending May 3, when it brought in $1.7 million, its highest tally yet. 

The show joins two other star-driven shows in recouping this season: Waiting for Godot, with Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, and Art, with Neil Patrick Harris, Bobby Cannavale and James Corden. Both ran on Broadway this fall, but have since ended their limited runs.

Radcliffe, who was nominated for a Tony Award for his role Tuesday, is scheduled to play his last performance in the show May 24. Starting May 26, Mariska Hargitay will take over the role for an extended run through June 28.
