Whitney Leavitt is saying goodbye to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

The reality star turned Broadway darling announced that she is departing the Hulu series during her final performance in Chicago on Sunday. The Hollywood Reporter further confirmed that she is exiting the show’s cast.

Leavitt has been a full-time cast member on the Emmy-nominated reality series since its debut in September 2024. After an impressive turn on Dancing With the Stars‘ 34th season, she joined Chicago to star as Roxie Hart and is set to make her feature debut in a holiday rom-com for Ninth House Productions that she’s also executive producing later this year.

During her starring turn in Chicago, the musical earned its highest recorded total. After extending her Broadway stay, her DWTS professional partner Mark Ballas also joined her for a number of shows; her final performance was on Sunday.

Leavitt’s departure arrives amid a hectic time for Mormon Wives. On April 21, THR confirmed that production on the series would resume after a pause initiated by an internal investigation surrounding Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen.

Reports that the Hulu series halted filming on its forthcoming fifth season broke in mid-March, amid an alleged domestic incident involving The Bachelorette star and her ex. THR confirmed that Mormon Wives production launched their own investigation into the conflicting claims, alongside investigations from Utah police.

After the alleged February incident between Paul and Mortensen that resulted in the production pause was made public, a video of the events leading up to Paul’s prior 2023 arrest was leaked, showing the reality star throwing barstools at Mortensen while her daughter was present. Hours later, ABC decided to pull season 22 of The Bachelorette, three days before its scheduled March 22 premiere.

Cameras had already captured content for the fifth season of Mormon Wives before the pause, with the cast notably visiting Leavitt for one of her February performances in Chicago. It is unclear if Leavitt will be considered a full-time castmember for season five, or if she will pop up as a guest.

THR has reached out to Hulu for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication.

The former Mormon Wives star teased her potential exit from the show in a March profile with THR. She explained that she was focused on pursuing more acting projects, and that she was in the midst of figuring out what her future with the unscripted series would look like.

“I’m figuring it out in real time,” Leavitt said in March. “We’re figuring it out together, but it feels like that’s the trajectory of where it’s going. But again, I wouldn’t be where I am without it, but it feels like it’s time to challenge myself in other ways and fulfill these dreams and passions that I’ve been trying to get even before the show.”

Elsewhere for Leavitt, she is slated to attend the first-ever Dancing With the Stars Con fan convention in Palm Springs from July 31 through Aug. 2. She also was recently named chief creative and brand officer of Cool Sips, the New York-based dirty soda brand.
