Ron Perlman has joined the season three cast for Prime Video thriller Cross in a recurring role.
He recently starred in The Capture, Fallout, Poker Face, The Instigators and Day of Fight, and will next be seen in the Cape Fear series and Kill Jackie. In the next season of Cross, Perlman will play a hard-driving officer. The part reunites him with showrunner Ben Watkins after their collaboration on Hand of God.
“As Herschel Zamora, Perlman’s character is a cop first and everything else second. Following a series of troubling work-related incidents, Officer Zamora is referred to Dr. Alex Cross (Aldis Hodge) for therapy. As Cross digs deeper, he realizes Zamora may be concealing something far more troubling than PTSD,” a synopsis from the producers reads.
In the Cross crime drama, Hodge plays a brilliant homicide detective and forensic psychologist who digs into the minds of serial killers to identify and catch them. The second season ended with a major decision made by Cross that will impact his future as a detective in season three.
The second season followed billionaire business titan Lance Durand (Matthew Lillard) when he calls the FBI for protection after receiving a death threat — one that links him to the murder of a billionaire playboy. Detective Cross and FBI Agent Kayla Craig (Alona Tal) led a new joint mission to protect Durand and find the killer, who left behind gruesome clues. Meanwhile, John Sampson (Isaiah Mustafa), Cross’ partner and longtime best friend, made an unexpected connection.
Watkins created and executive produces Cross for co-producers Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios. The executive producer credits for the upcoming eight new episodes are also shared by Craig Siebels, James Patterson, J. David Shanks, Aiyana White, Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, Leah Benavides Rodriguez, Carlito Rodriguez, Owen Shiflett, Bill Robinson, Patrick Santa and Hodge.
The first season of Cross drew 40 million viewers globally in its first 20 days on Prime Video, ranking as the third most-watched premiere on the service in 2025. Cross also ranked in the Top 10 of all original series during the week of its season two premiere, per Nielsen.
