Prime Video Issues Privacy Warning for ‘Summer I Turned P...

Prime Video knows fans are excited for the highly anticipated The Summer I Turned Pretty movie, but they’re issuing a strong warning for those trying to visit the active set.

Production on the hit teen drama’s follow-up film after season three wrapped last year is currently underway. Already, photos and videos of the cast filming have been making their rounds on social media.

However, the streamer is now asking fans for privacy. In a joint post on Instagram, Amazon MGM Studios, Prime Video and the show’s official account wrote, “We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew. We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible.”

“Please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to be shared,” the statement concluded. The post also featured a video with the words “Privacy Please” written in the sand at the beach.

This isn’t the first time Prime Video has had to give a warning to TSITP fans. Last year, ahead of the season three premiere in July, the streamer shared some community guidelines, cautioning viewers against bullying and hate speech.

“Cousins is our safe place,” the post read at the time. “Everything good, everything magical. Let’s keep the conversation kind this summer.”

“We have a ZERO tolerance policy for bullying and hate speech. If you engage in any of the following you will be banned,” the post added, listing off “community guidelines” that included “hate speech or bullying,” “targeting our cast or crew” and “harassing or doxxing members of the community.”

The main cast is set to return for the feature-length installment, including Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman and Rain Spencer. Author Jenny Han will write the screenplay, alongside Sarah Kucserka, and direct the film.

While plot details have been kept under wraps, the movie is expected to wrap up Belly’s (Tung) journey after rekindling her romance with Conrad (Briney) at the end of season three.

“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Han previously shared in a statement. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”
