Pretty much every one who’s ever worked in Hollywood has now been cast in Netflix‘s live-action Scooby-Doo series, Scooby-Doo: Origins. OK, so that’s a bit of a stretch, but on Wednesday, the streamer announced 15 more actors for the show — all humans, no dogs.

Joining the cast are Rusty Schwimmer (The Pitt, Righteous Gemstones), Peter Macon (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, The Orville), Maxwell Simkins (Shifting Gears, Sleepover), Jona Xiao (The Pitt, Eyes of Wakanda), Dani Deetté (The Runarounds, FBI: Most Wanted), Elysée Sanvillé (72 Hours), Alex Isles (Normal with a Capitol N), Avery Kristen Pohl (General Hospital, Never Have I Ever), Pamela Mitchell (1883, Perry Mason), Ross Kimball (Jury Duty, Masterminds), Sara Gilbert (The Connors), Wynn Everett (Chad Powers, She Dances), Sauriyan Sapkota (Midnight Club, House of Usher), Bruce McGill (Lioness, Reacher) and Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks, Of Mice and Men).

On Monday, Netflix revealed the real-life pooch who would portray Scooby-Doo — see that good boy here. This is the first time Scooby-Doo has been played by a real dog.

Scooby-Doo: Origins is currently in production in Atlanta and will premiere globally on Netflix in 2027. The previously announced (human) cast includes Mckenna Grace as Daphne, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma, Maxwell Jenkins as Fred and Paul Walter Hauser.

Netflix also will not share Hauser’s character, so in all likelihood the dude is voicing the dog.

Scooby-Doo: Origins is described as a “modern reimagining of the iconic mystery-solving group of teens and their very special dog. During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder,” the logline reads. “Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”

Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are showrunners on the Warner Bros. Television series. They will executive produce along with non-writers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Adrienne Erickson and Toby Haynes, who also directed the first episode.
