Netflix released a first-look clip from Louis C.K.‘s upcoming stand-up special.

The new footage (below) has the comedian performing a bit about putting his father in a retirement home.

The special is titled Ridiculous and will be released globally by Netflix on June 30.

The special marks the comedian’s return to streaming nine years after the scandal that derailed his career. His last Netflix special was Louis C.K.: 2017.

C.K. was exiled from the televised comedy world after five women accused him of sexual misconduct at the height of the #MeToo movement. C.K. admitted to the behavior, saying he believed at the time it had been appropriate because he had asked them first.

He then released several albums and specials through his own website. One of them, Sincerely Louis CK, won best comedy album at the Grammys in 2022 (following pre-scandal Grammy wins in 2012 and 2016).

The Netflix special’s official description references C.K.’s last self-released specials — 2023’s Louis C.K. at The Dolby and Back To The Garden — though omits the unusual circumstances of their release: “Comedy icon Louis C.K. returns to New York City three years after his last special with a quintessential set that shows he’s still a legend of the standup world.”

In May, C.K. headlined a show at the Hollywood Bowl as part of the Netflix is a Joke comedy festival and the streaming special was announced. The comedian was met with a standing ovation and the set was filled with his signature raunchy material.

“That was my last show [on the tour], last time telling those jokes, and I’m really happy I got to tell them to you,” C.K. told the audience. “Thank you very much for coming. Thank you to Netflix, I really appreciate the gig.”
