Stephen Amell has shared the first promo for the upcoming Baywatch reboot.

The brief preview, posted to Amell’s Instagram account on Saturday, features quick looks at Amell’s Captain Hobie Buchannon, son of David Hasselhoff’s Mitch Buchannon, as well as characters played by Brooks Nader, Livvy Dunne and Jessica Belkin in the upcoming Fox series. The promo, which teases “same beach, new blood,” features the iconic red swimsuits and slow-motion running of the original series. Amell captioned his post with, “I dream in slow motion.”

Those who are eagerly awaiting the Baywatch reboot may feel like they’re living in slow motion, though, as they’ll have to wait until January for the update to hit their screens.

The 12-episode series won’t be ready for the fall but will debut in late January 2027, and Fox is optimistic about a midseason launch for the revival.

“We have a rich history and of launching series midseason,” Fox president Michael Thorn said on a media conference call earlier this month. “We just did it most recently with Best Medicine and Memory of a Killer and Doc before that. It goes all the way back to 24 and Empire and the 9-1-1s and The Resident. Obviously, Baywatch is a huge, huge priority for us, and we think we have a great opportunity to set the show up for success [in midseason].”

Belkin plays Hobie’s daughter Charlie Vale, who leaves her complicated home life in Texas and shows up on her father’s doorstep in hopes of becoming a Baywatch lifeguard.

Dunne, making her professional acting debut in Baywatch, plays junior lifeguard Grace. And Nader plays Selene, a Zuma Beach lifeguard and Hobie’s adversary.

The cast of the reboot also features Noah Beck, Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Luke Eisner, Nadia Gray, Charlie McElveen, Ashley Moore, Kylar Miranda as well as original Baywatch castmembers David Chokachi and Erika Eleniak.

Matt Nix (Burn Notice, True Lies) serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside McG (The O.C., Charlie’s Angels), Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. McG will also direct the first episode.
