For Taylor Swift — the world’s biggest pop star — Madison Square Garden is perhaps the most practical wedding venue possible.

The utilitarian arena is also, for a singer who built her career being a hopeful and hopeless romantic, perhaps the least romantic venue possible.

In the absence of any official wedding news from Team Swift — she and her team have been mum on details to the press — this contrast has given media and fans quite a conundrum amid a rising number of clues that she and Travis Kelce will hold at least part of their wedding festivities at the venue. Do we really believe the pop superstar’s near-royal wedding will be held at a sports arena?

Here’s what we know so far — and, just as importantly, what we don’t.

When is Taylor Swift’s Wedding? Supposedly, the festivities will be July 2nd and 3rd at the Garden. According to some digging by The New York Times, there will be an intimate (if you can really call it that) event at the arena on July 2 with roughly 100 guests. On July 3, there will be a larger event with possible stage appearances with 1,000 guests. The read-between-the-lines goes like this: The wedding is July 2 with a blow-out celebration the next day. But many believe there could be an off-site tying of the knot before any MSG event. Yes, this is all total speculation, but you better get used to it.

Why Madison Square Garden? It makes a lot of logistical sense. The Garden is a windowless indoor venue near Swift’s home where every element can be controlled. You don’t have to worry about security, weather, paparazzi, disruptions and obviously, there’s plenty of seating. If you plan to have a lot of guests, who are coming in from all over the world, and want to make sure absolutely nothing goes wrong, the Garden fits the bill. Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told a reporter, when asked about the venue, “It doesn’t matter how big the show is around them. They’re in love, and that’s the most important thing.”

But for Real? Could This Be an Elaborate Ruse? Maybe. Swift loves her privacy, and pulling off surprise stunts. If this is a bridal bait and switch, it’s pretty darn elaborate. Permits have been filed to shut down the streets around the Garden for three days. Per the Times, Professional athletes in Kelce’s orbit have booked nearby hotel rooms. Swift and Kelce might not actually get married at the arena, but it would be surprising, at this point, if there wasn’t some celebration at the arena. “Don’t be shocked if it turns out to be a small affair far away from the spotlight,” an industry vet close to Swift and Kelce told Deadline. Even some police officers stationed near the Garden have said they are doubtful and they haven’t heard anything about a Swift event. “She’s a glamorous girl, she wouldn’t get married here,” one NYPD officer told CNN. The Hollywood Reporter, however, hears the FBI are booked to work security at her “New York” wedding.

How Much Will Swift’s Wedding Cost? A luxury wedding planner, Sonal Shah, told the New York Post that it costs $2.5 million just to rent the venue. “Once you add production, security, catering, entertainment and décor, a Madison Square Garden wedding could very realistically become a $10 million to $20 million-plus event,” she said.

What Are the Wedding’s Rules? The first rule of Taylor Swift’s wedding club appears to be: Don’t talk to reporters about wedding club. But San Francisco 49ers player George Kittle confirmed he was attending, and revealed a second rule: “They said absolutely no gifts.” So, no bridal registry at Target, it seems. That, honestly, must be a relief for guests to not have to try to figure out what to buy a billionaire pop star who already has everything she might want.

Who Is Going to Swift and Kelce’s Wedding? According to People, Jason and Kylie Kelce (though Kylie charmingly snapped at a reporter who ventured to ask her about the wedding, “Nobody’s fucking telling you anything”). Suki Waterhouse confirmed she was going. Swift publicly invited Graham Norton. Zoë Kravitz reportedly received an invite despite rumors the two had a falling out. Swift has suggested Ed Sheeran will be invited.

The spectacle has turned into a betting market as well. According to Polymarket — the online prediction market designed to extend the number of years it takes college students to pay back their loans — other likely names include Patrick Mahomes, Selena Gomez, Este and Danielle Haim, Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, Max Martin and Lana Del Rey. In case you’re wondering, Blake Lively currently stands at 22 percent. Harry Styles is not expected to attend (despite being engaged to Kravitz).

Who Will Swift’s Bridesmaids Be? Again, Polymarket betting here: Abigail Anderson (Swift’s best friend since high school), Ashley Avignone and Selena Gomez all have more than 75 percent odds.

Where Are Swift and Kelce Going on Their Honeymoon? Given we’re not even sure where and when the wedding is, nobody has any clue where they might head afterwards. One imagines Swift and Kelce boarding her private jet and handing the pilot a sealed envelope with their top secret destination. Bottom line is: Anywhere they want.
