Heidi Klum looked like she was carved from stone — quite literally — on the 2026 Met Gala carpet

The Project Runway host was a clear standout on Monday night for her profound fashion choice that transformed her into a living sculpture. The custom look by Mike Marino was inspired by classical works like the Veiled Christ by Giuseppe Sammartino and the Veiled Vestal by Raffaele Monti, utilizing materials like latex and spandex to make Klum look like she was carved from stone.

Klum’s dynamic look arrived as no surprise, as the model is known for her innovative fashion choices, especially around the Halloween season. Each year, Klum hosts her annual Halloween party, where she debuts highly anticipated, often outlandish looks.

This past year, for example, she dressed up as Medusa, fully transformed with prosthetics and makeup galore. Some of her standout Halloween looks from over the years include her and her husband Tom Kaulitz transforming into E.T. in 2024, her stint as Shrek’s Fiona in 2018 and, of course, her totally memed worm look from 2022.

The 2026 Met Gala dress code is “Fashion Is Art.” This year’s exhibition, “Costume Art,” was curated by Andrew Bolton and promised to “explore the relationship between clothing and the body beneath,” per official descriptions.

The Met Gala 2026 co-chairs include Vogue’s Anna Wintour, Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams; Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos were honorary chairs. The host committee included Anthony Vaccarello, Zoë Kravitz, Adut Akech, Angela Bassett, Sinéad Burke, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, Alex Consani, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, Rebecca Hall, LISA, Chloe Malle, Aimee Mullins, Amy Sherald, Tschabalala Self, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Anna Weyant, Lauren Wasser, A’ja Wilson, Chase Sui Wonders and Yseult.
