Peace could only last so long. In fact, it gets put on the backburner when Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler return with Dutton Ranch.

The fan-favorite Yellowstone couple played by Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser galloped off to their new life in South Texas in the series finale of the mega-hit flagship series from Taylor Sheridan. But now in the spinoff — which premieres with two episodes on May 15 on Paramount+ (and at 8 p.m. on Paramount Network), trouble has once again found Beth and Rip as they appear to risk it all to save their new ranch.

Following the explosive first look that confirmed Beth and Rip wouldn’t be rocking on their ranch porch in Rio Paloma for too long following their peaceful ending in Yellowstone, the full trailer (below) introduces new foes for the pair played by Ed Harris and Annette Bening, with the latter seeming to particularly threaten the life Beth and Rip are trying to build with their son Carter (Finn Little).

The footage even shows Rip finding a new “train station” — which was the Yellowstone code word for dumping the dead bodies of their enemies.

Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca and Natalie Alyn Lind round out the cast.

Here’s the logline: “As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together — far from the ghosts of Yellowstone — they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.”

The nine-episode first season, produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, will roll out weekly following its debut.

Dutton Ranch is created by executive producer and showrunner Chad Feehan and based on characters created by executive producers Sheridan and John Linson. Executive producers also include David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Reilly, Hauser and Keith Cox. Voros directed multiple episodes, including the premiere and finale. Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowrey, and Phil Abraham also direct.
