How Salesforce Employees Make an Impact During Earth Month
Daniel Mitchell, Kelly Chartrand · 2026-04-16 · via Salesforce

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword at Salesforce — it’s one of our core values, guiding how we operate and innovate. As we celebrate Earth Month, we want to spotlight how our incredible employees are making a difference for the planet.

Blaze your trail to Salesforce!

At Salesforce, we’re not just shaping the future. We’re turning big ideas into breakthroughs. Want to join the #1 AI CRM that’s leading the digital labor revolution? Explore our open roles today!

Our commitment: Sustainability as a core value

We believe in a net zero, nature-positive world. For over a decade, we’ve been embedding sustainability into everything we do — from decarbonizing our operations, to conserving, restoring, and planting trees, to innovating with AI sustainability, we’re driving meaningful change for a more sustainable future.

Transparency is key, and we track our progress diligently. Our annual Stakeholder Impact Report details our efforts towards our sustainability goals, including reducing emissions across our value chain and supporting nature conservation and restoration worldwide. Our technology is our superpower — and we’re using it to both help ourselves and our customers achieve environmental goals.

Earthforce: Empowering employees to act

Championing sustainability alongside our corporate initiatives are our passionate employees. Earthforce, our dedicated employee resource group for those who promote and celebrate environmental responsibility, education, and impact, boasts over 14,000 members across 29 locations worldwide.

Just last year, over 3,600 Earthforce members volunteered an impressive 22,000 hours globally. These volunteer events ranged from local cleanups to educational workshops, making a real impact in the communities where we live and work.

Getting involved with Earthforce offers employees around the world opportunities to make a difference for our planet. This Earth Month, our dedicated members rolled up their sleeves for hands-on environmental action. From planting trees to “swag swaps” to participating in educational sessions about energy, water, and AI, there was activity for every interest.

“Earthforce champions sustainability at Salesforce by fostering awareness and facilitating hands-on engagement,” said Brian Carney, Earthforce President. “We connect employees, customers, and partners to drive positive environmental impact in our communities and amplify our collective efforts.”

Making a difference: Pro Bono Fellowship

Through our pro bono fellowship, Salesforce employees are using their skills to drive change, creating powerful ripple effects for their careers, communities, and the planet. This often creates a powerful intersection between career development and sustainability, as Salesforce’ Solution Engineer Marissa discovered.

Marissa is a star volunteer in our Salesforce Accelerator — Agents for Impact initiative. She worked as the pro bono Project Manager for Good360, helping them build an agent that supports disaster response by matching donations with communities in need.

“The AI for Impact pro bono program enabled me to get hands-on with Salesforce’s cutting-edge generative AI solutions alongside a nonprofit organization,” Marissa explained. “It allowed me to rapidly level up my Agentforce technical skills, expand my network, and enhance my ability to craft a vision for customers and share how Agentforce can solve their challenges and drive their impact.”

The personal significance of this work is profound. “Nonprofit and pro bono customer, Good360, is a critical partner in climate disaster resilience, diverting over 16,000 truckloads per year from our landfills and into the hands of disaster-affected families,” Marissa shared. “We built out an AI and data strategy and now they are leveraging their agent to get closer to their climate goals. It is an honor to see our partnership go from vision to reality.”

We’re proud to empower employees like Marissa to turn their talents into transformative change through programs like Volunteer Time Off and the pro bono fellowship.

Join us in making an impact

This Earth Month, we celebrate the passion and dedication of employees like Brian, Marissa, and the thousands of employees worldwide. Their actions, big and small, demonstrate the power of our collective commitment to sustainability. By embedding this value into our culture and empowering our people, we can all contribute to a healthier planet and a more sustainable future.
