B2C Commerce May Release: Merchandising, Product Manageme...
Miryam Meir · 2026-05-29 · via Salesforce

Running a digital storefront means juggling more than your shoppers ever see behind the scenes: managing product data, curating search results, configuring checkout, and more. This month’s release is designed to increase speed and ease for teams responsible for these critical elements. We built smarter tools for merchandisers, cleaner workflows for product managers, and more checkout flexibility for payment teams — all without extra overhead.

The headline this month is the general availability of the new Visual Merchandising Workspace. We’re also rolling out smarter catalog management tools, frictionless checkout options, and a new developer toolkit to accelerate your builds.

Here’s a closer look at what’s new in the May 2026 release.

Merchandisers spend up to 29 hours a week on repetitive, manual tasks. Managing digital shelves shouldn’t mean toggling between analytics tools and backend configurations just to execute your strategy.

The new Visual Merchandising Workspace addresses this by offering a centralized, data-driven environment. It empowers merchants to maximize sales and product discoverability by turning real-time insights into high-conversion actions on the spot.

Feature highlights:

  • Real-Time Data Overlays. View dynamic data signals right on top of your product grid, giving you an instant snapshot of SKU health directly on the product image.
  • Customizable Tile Anatomy. Tailor your UI components to prioritize the metrics that matter most to your current business goals, such as conversion lift, inventory health, or brand-affinity scores.
  • Centralized Grid Management. Control how products appear on product listing and search pages. Pin, drag-and-drop, and manipulate sorting logic, faceout colors, and category assignments across your storefront from a single canvas.

Guide shoppers with Boost and Bury Rules

You can also influence product rankings in keyword searches and category pages to better align with your seasonal or inventory goals. New Boost and Bury Rules use expanded operators to let you tweak a product’s relevance score without overriding your foundational search logic. This allows you to actively promote overstocked items or deprioritize out-of-season styles while ensuring your search results remain accurate and relevant for your customers.

Streamline product management and site updates

This new release includes three core workflow enhancements designed to eliminate manual data manipulation and help get your products live faster:

  • Readiness Insights. Pinpoint products that are missing essential information before they go live by using Home Page Insights and specialized readiness filters.
  • Quick List Actions and Data Exports. View, bulk copy, and export product data directly from your List View in either CSV or XML formats.
  • Bulk Replication:.Update multiple products, price books, or content assets simultaneously by utilizing existing granular data replication tools. You can now publish these batch updates directly from Business Manager once permissions are assigned.

Drive conversions with Salesforce Payments

If you want to lower cart abandonment, it’s critical to optimize the final steps of the checkout process. For teams using Salesforce Payments, this release offers code-free control over the storefront checkout experience with:

  • Dynamic Payment Sorting. You can now arrange the sequence of payment methods in Business Manager so shoppers see your preferred, highest-converting options first, replacing the old static list configuration.
  • Expanded International Options. Provide global shoppers with familiar, localized payment methods. We’ve added native Salesforce Payments support for Amazon Pay (via Stripe) and TWINT (via Adyen).
  • Express Payment Visibility Toggles. Control exactly where fast-checkout buttons appear across your storefront. Turn express payment components on or off for the Checkout, Cart, Mini-Cart, and Product Detail pages using simple toggles—no code modifications required.

For technical and security teams, we are delivering deeper system visibility and new tools to accelerate development:

  • Agentic B2C Developer Toolkit: Get a developer preview look at our new VSCode extension, which offers direct access to WebDav, analytics, sandboxes and APIs without leaving your IDE. Leverage the new Script Debugging and Logs MCP tools, enabling coding agents to debug errors and suggest fixes. Upgrade the B2C CLI to conveniently manage sandboxes and user permissions. All built to make Headless 360 a reality for B2C Commerce developers. We’ve put together a series of walkthrough videos to help your team get started quickly.
  • Account Manager Audit Logs in Log Center: Log Center now aggregates Account Manager audit log events, including modifications made to users, API clients, and organizations. Use keyword searches and filters to identify specific field changes or action events within a selected timeframe.

Admin Note: Audit logs will remain available in their previous Account Manager location until the September 23, 2026 release, when they will be removed. To retain your historical data, make sure to download your logs before that date.

Salesforce Cosmos Design is now the default

Starting with B2C Commerce Version 26.5, your workspace gets a visual and behavioral upgrade. The Salesforce Cosmos Design is now enabled by default, introducing high-contrast colors, clear icons, interactive circular elements, and highly legible fonts designed to make platform navigation cleaner and more inviting. If your team prefers the legacy look, you can easily switch back to the previous UI at any time.
