




















Big moves are underway in California’s government affairs and lobbying space. Axiom Advisors, a Sacramento-based consulting firm, is acquiring the Bay Area’s BMWL firm, Power Play has learned.
“We’re entering an era where the fight for every consequential issue in California happens across policy, politics, press, and public perception simultaneously,” said Jason Kinney, one of the head honchos at Axiom. “We offer clients the ability to navigate and win across every arena that matters in this state. That’s what this expansion reinforces.”
Other power players are joining Axiom: Anthony York, a former aide to Gov. Gavin Newsom and senior adviser to failed gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer, will be coming aboard, along with Rhys Williams, another ex-Newsomite.
Jason Elliott, a San Francisco-based consultant and longtime Newsom adviser, said that combining the geographic power of Bay Area and Sacramento firms makes sense from a strategic standpoint.
