A more intelligent Android on Samsung Galaxy S26
Mindy Brooks · 2026-02-26 · via Android

At Galaxy Unpacked, we shared how Samsung Galaxy S26 users will get the latest in Google AI with Android.

A woman in a red turtleneck, camouflage shorts, and black boots poses against a bright red wall, while a smartphone to her right displays a Google search page with image recognition results.

We’ve been evolving Android with AI–moving it from an operating system into an intelligent system that learns and works for you. Building on our decade-long partnership with Samsung, we are launching new AI features on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series that help you tackle everyday tasks, find the perfect look and detect scams.

Let Gemini handle your to-do list

When you’re juggling a million things at once, sometimes you just need to delegate. We’ve all been there–wishing you could effortlessly hand off tasks like ordering a ride, organizing your dinner order or building your grocery cart. Usually, these tasks mean stopping your day to manually set everything up.

Now, we have an early preview of how to get these tasks done. Starting as a beta feature in the Gemini app on select devices like the Galaxy S26 series, you can offload these tedious, multi-step tasks to Gemini with just a long press of the side button 1 . Starting in the US and Korea, simply tell Gemini what you need, and it gets to work.

When you choose to use this feature, Gemini runs in the background and your phone is still yours to use. Shoot a quick text or check your email while it navigates the task you requested. You remain in control with the option to view the live progress straight from your notifications, jump in or stop a task.

From "Book a ride home" to "Reorder my last meal," Gemini can now help handle it for you. This beta feature will be initially available for select apps in the food, grocery and rideshare categories.

Find that perfect look, faster

Circle to Search is a great tool to search anything you see on your Android device. It’s already completely changed how people interact with more than 580 million Android devices. Starting today, we’re enhancing Circle to Search with multi-object image recognition, so you can get inspired by everything you see on your screen. For times when you’re looking up design inspiration for an entire gallery wall, not just a single piece of art. Or if you’re scrolling and you find an outfit you love online—but you want to search for the full aesthetic, not just one piece of the look. Now, you can find the entire look to help curate your vibe.

With a single gesture, Circle to Search will instantly identify visual matches for every piece—from the top to footwear and everything in between. From there, you can scroll through for inspiration and narrow down your vision. We’re also expanding how you can try on items virtually. Now, you can even see how an article of clothing looks on you to ensure it is just right, right from Circle to Search. Just upload a photo and virtually try on similar styles from your favorite brands.

Connect with more confidence

Staying connected with friends and family should be worry-free. To give you more peace of mind, we’re using on-device intelligence to bring proactive protection to your calls. Using our on-device Gemini model, Google’s advanced Scam Detection is now available directly in the Samsung Phone app on Galaxy S26 devices 2 . If a potential scam is detected during a call, you’ll receive an instant audio and haptic alert 3 . To protect your privacy, Scam Detection analysis happens entirely on your device, and the feature is automatically off for anyone in your contacts 4 . Learn more about improvements in Scam Detection in our blog post.

See the future first on Android

These updates are the first step in our journey to define a new era of mobile intelligence. Under the hood, Gemini 3 series models are doing the heavy lifting: understanding your goals, asking follow-up questions when needed and proactively suggesting the next logical task to take on. These updates will be available on the Galaxy S26 series at launch, and we’ll be adding more capabilities over time.
