Hong Kong’s restaurants and bakeries are going all out this Father’s Day, catering to every variety of dad imaginable.

Our selections below feature everything from chocolate cigars to tailored suits to steaks weighing a full kilogram (2.2lbs), but there remains one common theme: connection. These businesses offer opportunities to slow down and appreciate time spent together on a day dedicated to our fathers.

If your father has a penchant for indulgent sweets, The Mandarin Cake Shop – within the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong hotel – may be worth a trip.

While famous for its signature rose petal jam and intricate pastries, the shop has baked a special variety of cakes, chocolate cigars and other treats to celebrate Father’s Day, balancing opulence and rustic charm.

You can also treat your dad to the shop’s speciality sandwiches and salads, all made in-house and served with bottled juice or freshly brewed coffee.

Or, if his tastes lean more towards decadent confectionery, opt for the caramelised banana Danish with toasted walnuts and chocolate, available during June.

The Mandarin Cake Shop has temporarily relocated to the second floor of the Landmark Prince’s during the hotel’s renovation period.
