At a time when information is abundant but trust is increasingly scarce, the South China Morning Post is placing credibility and leadership at the centre of its newest brand campaign, Influence Reads SCMP.
The initiative brings together six prominent figures from Hong Kong and across Asia – spanning sport, finance, business and public service – who share a common conviction: informed decisions begin with trusted journalism.

Now in its fourth year, the platform evolves from the widely recognised I Read SCMP series. For the first time, it highlights members of SCMP’s growing mainland-born and Asean communities, underscoring the publication’s expanding regional footprint and international readership.

Readers who lead
The six featured leaders joining a community of 30 influential individuals from previous editions include:

For 123 years, SCMP has reported on China and other parts of Asia with editorial rigour and deep context. As global markets shift and geopolitical currents reshape the region, the need for authoritative, firsthand reporting has never been more critical.
“Trust has always been the cornerstone of SCMP – a value that is becoming exceptionally essential yet rare today,” says Kevin Huang, its chief operating officer. “SCMP provides perspective and insights that influential readers need to lead with confidence.”

Through Influence Reads SCMP, the publication reaffirms its role not just as a news source, but as a crucial platform for on-the-ground insights that inform dialogue, shape understanding, and support the leaders driving Asia’s next chapter.

The campaign runs from June 17 to August 31 across print and digital platforms, out-of-home placements on Hong Kong trams, at Central MTR, and at Hong Kong International Airport, as well as at SCMP events.
