The administration of US President Donald Trump is inviting American CEOs from Boeing, Mastercard, Citigroup and other major corporations to join his delegation to China next week, according to multiple sources.

Trump is visiting China on May 14 and 15 after his scheduled visit for March 31 was postponed following the US-Israeli strikes on Iran. Boeing, Mastercard and Citigroup declined to comment, but sources said several CEOs had received invitations from the White House.

A full list of participants from the business community has not yet been released.

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg ‌said in April that the company was counting on the Trump administration to ‌help ‌unlock a long-awaited major order from China.

Other companies, including Nvidia, are also awaiting final confirmation on whether their CEO, Jensen Huang, will join the entourage. Bloomberg reported on Friday that Huang – who has lobbied Trump to permit sales of advanced AI chips in the world’s second-largest economy – said he would gladly join the trip if invited.

A source also said that Trump’s two sons – Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump – would take part in the trip and “visit on ground [for] one day.”

“I’m wondering if Barron [Trump] might come,” another source said. “It’s the end of the semester for him.”
