Every May, the fashion world’s attention turns to the French Riviera, where esteemed filmmakers and celebrities take over the red carpets of Cannes. A major showcase for fashion and jewellery from the world’s top luxury maisons, the Cannes Film Festival carries as much cultural cachet – and earned media value – as the Oscars or the Met Gala.

Here are some stand-out red carpet moments from the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival.

Demi Moore in Jacquemus, Chopard and Gucci

The Substance (2024) star Demi Moore is a jury member at this year’s festival, and she sure is dressing like it. Moore first made waves wearing a polka dot Jacquemus number and matching bag during a photocall ahead of the opening ceremony.

She donned a custom sequinned mermaid gown by the brand, paired with a Chopard high jewellery necklace, for the ceremony itself.

For the premiere of Paper Tiger, Moore turned to the provocative label Matières Fécales (Fecal Matter) to make a truly show-stopping red carpet statement, wearing a hot-pink couture ball gown with matching MF x Christian Louboutin satin bow pumps from the brand’s fall/winter 2026 collection. Moore worked with stylist Brad Goreski to curate her tour de force of looks.

Finally, Moore attended the premiere of Fjord wearing a Gucci look fresh off the runway, shown mere days beforehand at Demna’s cruise 2027 show in New York’s Times Square. Truly iconic behaviour.
