On June 16, Erling Haaland scored his first-ever World Cup goal less than 30 minutes into the Norway-versus-Iraq match.

The Man City striker went on to land another goal, leading Norway to a 4-1 victory. The Scandinavian nation has not qualified for the World Cup since 1998.

At just 25, Haaland has made a name for himself as one of the world’s best goal scorers since making his professional debut at 15 years old for Bryne FK, a local club in his hometown in Norway.

It was also at the club where Haaland met his long-time girlfriend, Isabel Haugseng Johansen. His supportive partner wrote in an Instagram Story ahead of the match against Iraq that she had “a really good feeling”.

“I just can’t wait for the kick-off, for the match to start. I’m wearing the home jersey today and my white mini skirt. So I’ll see you there, and let’s cross everything we have and cheer our hearts today for Norway,” she added.
