Former Manchester City player Shaun Wright-Phillips believes Pep Guardiola’s side will treat all their remaining games as “a cup final” and add another crown to their 10 Premier League titles next month.

City overtook Arsenal at the top of the table for the first time since August after their 1-0 win at Burnley on Wednesday. However, both sides are level on points and goal difference, with City ahead only on “goals for”.

With only five more matches left for both City and Arsenal, Wright-Phillips was not interested in joining the discussions about Arsenal potentially blowing apart yet another title chance.

“What Arsenal do is what Arsenal do. From a City perspective, all we’re interested in is treating every game like it is a cup final,” said the 44-year-old, whose father, Ian Wright, is an Arsenal legend who won one title, in 1997/98.

“They’re going to go into those games one at a time, and play their hearts out like they always have done.”

City will travel to Everton next, followed by a home match against Brentford. They will then travel to Bournemouth, before closing their season with home matches against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.
