A-listers are choosing to shun their shirts on the red carpet, while Gucci, Dior, Balmain and more are presenting their takes on the runway – will bare chests be the wedding trend this summer?
It may not be summer in the US yet, but some of the best-dressed men in Hollywood are already ditching their shirts.

As the rules of red carpet tailoring continue to loosen, from more relaxed takes on black tie to the floppy ribbon bows recently seen under the collars of Paul Mescal and Cillian Murphy, stylish A-listers are opting to wear their blazers with nothing underneath, turning bare skin into one of the season’s hottest menswear trends.
This year’s Vanity Fair Oscar Party, long one of the most obsessed-over post-Academy Awards events for celebrity dressing, was arguably the look’s biggest moment in 2026 thus far.

Barry Keoghan was among those who arrived sans top, styled in edgy McQueen tailoring with embroidered floral lapels – a choice that neatly played into the rock-star energy the Irish actor is currently channelling ahead of his coming turn as Ringo Starr in Sam Mendes’ forthcoming film The Beatles. Troye Sivan offered his own hint of sexiness in a strappy Tom Ford look, also worn with nothing but a bare chest beneath, and finished with Boucheron jewels, including an archival yellow gold and diamond floral brooch from 1962.
Heated Rivalry stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, meanwhile, turned up the temperature with their famously muscled torsos on show. Williams rocked Balenciaga, opting for a sleeveless blouse with dramatic veiling, while Storrie chose a skin-tight high-neck Saint Laurent top paired with jewellery from Tiffany & Co.

Actors were also baring more skin – albeit in a less adventurous way – at this year’s Baftas. Riz Ahmed wore a low-cut double-breasted Saint Laurent blazer without a shirt, paired with loose, swampy trousers. Noah Jupe also went shirtless in black Jacquemus tailoring, his jacket neatly cinched at the waist before falling into a barrel-leg trouser and topped off with diamond jewels by Bucherer.
While presenting the Grammy for album of the year to Bad Bunny for the history-making Debí Tirar Más Fotos, the first-ever non-English album to win the coveted prize, Harry Styles gave the shirtless look one of its most notable appearances, stepping out in custom Dior by Jonathan Anderson, styled by Harry Lambert, the mastermind behind many of Styles’ best gender-fluid outfits. Worn without a shirt underneath, his grey Bar jacket with black lapels echoed the nipped-waist silhouette seen in Anderson’s fall/winter 2026 menswear show, paired with straight-leg jeans and mint-green ballet flats.
