Kimmel on Trump: his approval numbers ‘like his testicles...
Guardian staff · 2026-05-29 · via The Guardian

Jimmy Kimmel ridiculed Donald Trump over his falling approval rating while also taking shots at his crumbling anniversary concert event.

The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host reminded viewers that the midterms are not too far away and a new poll has shown that 57% of Americans will definitely vote, up from the average of 40%.

But the same poll also showed that Trump’s approval numbers “like his testicles have sunk to an all-time low”, at 34%, two points behind JD Vance.

Kimmel said he was now only popular with “white guys named Rufus” as “everybody hates him”.

This is despite Trump doing “more for everyone than anyone” according to the president in a clip included in a montage of him bragging that Kimmel played. “You’ve done enough, let’s get someone else to take over now,” Kimmel said.

This week has also seen the president redirect his hatred toward E Jean Carroll, the writer who accused Trump of sexually assaulting her, leading to two winning judgments. Trump is yet to pay the money he owes her and this week forced his justice department to launch a criminal investigation into her.

“It’s comforting to know that our hard-earned tax dollars are going to fund the president’s nonstop multi-victim retribution tour,” Kimmel said.

For America’s 250th anniversary, Trump is also trying to get his face on a $250 bill, making it the “least popular bill since Cosby” – but rules dictate that only deceased people can appear on money, so Trump has legislation in the works to change that.

“Every day it’s a new project with him as the focus,” Kimmel said.

News came out this week about Trump’s Great American State Fair taking place on 4 July, also known as “Coachella for bands that hired their cousin as their tour manager”.

The week has seen a long list of acts pulling out, including Milli Vanilli, who have said they were never asked to perform and would not be taking part. “What a mess,” Kimmel said. “Everything they do they screw up, they cannot do anything.”

Trump is also hoping to pardon 250 people, which is “something the Joker would do”.

The president also made more bombing threats this week, which led to Kimmel telling his viewers that Trump has now threatened one out of every 13 countries in the world. “The only person who’s ever threatened more is Godzilla,” he said.

Kimmel also shared a bizarre video of RFK Jr, the US health secretary, showing off his snake skills on social media, asking his wife, Cheryl Hines, for a pillow case. “Cheryl took the pillow and she’s on the way to her mother’s house screaming into it,” Kimmel joked.

Kimmel also said asked, “Is that where he gets the oil he pushes?”, before following up with: “Why is every person in this government the craziest neighbor you ever had on the block?”
