It’s about time.
For nearly fifteen years, Three.js has been at the heart of countless experiments, portfolio sites, installations, games, open-source tools, and happy rabbit holes. It’s helped shape a generation of creative developers, and now, for the first time, the community is gathering in one place.

We already took a behind-the-scenes look at the conference website with organizer David Ronai, who showed how a pile of bouncing spheres became a celebration of the community itself. But the spheres are only half the story.
This time, we’re turning our attention to the humans inside them.
We asked a handful of speakers what they’re currently obsessed with, what they’ve been building lately, and what they’re excited to share in Paris. Here are a few of their answers.

For the past few months, Bruno has been living and breathing TSL. He’s currently working on the biggest WebGPU update yet for his Three.js Journey course and, by his own admission, it’s become a much bigger adventure than expected. “It’s going to be huge! So huge that I can’t seem to see the end of it,” he says. “I wonder if I’ll have time to work on my conference talk!”
Teaching TSL meant going beyond the documentation and building with it every day, so Bruno rebuilt his entire portfolio as a playground for experiments.
One experiment in particular has stayed with him. Shared on X, it started as a simple idea before turning into an obsession. “I kept on tweaking it, again and again. And finally, it clicked.” The glowing spheres aren’t just for show either. They’re driven by real physics, converting kinetic energy into heat. “Just some nerd stuff that makes me smile.”
As for Paris, Bruno’s teaser consists of a single emoji: 🌱. Considering everything else he’s been cooking up lately, we have a feeling that’s all the hint we need.

For Célia, curiosity is part of the job. As a 3D designer working with WebGL at OFF+BRAND, she’s always looking for new techniques and better workflows. Lately, that curiosity has been leading her into AI, exploring everything from non-linear texture optimization to transferring textures from AI-generated models with messy topology onto clean, production-ready meshes. It’s all part of understanding how AI-generated assets can become part of high-quality real-time 3D experiences.
That same curiosity has recently taken her beyond the screen. She’s launching her own ceramics brand, starting with handmade bowls and cups, while discovering a new creative rhythm through ceramic classes. She’s also been sharing her latest AI experiments with the community, including a lightning talk at the Paris Design Meetup where she introduced a workflow she’s been refining:
In Paris, Célia promises that “a little part might be unexpected.” More than anything, though, she’s looking forward to being back where she feels most fulfilled. “WebGL conferences are where I feel the most fulfilled,” she says. “What excites me most is learning new technical workflows from talented people, being surrounded by peers who share the same passion, and spending time exchanging ideas. It’s also about dancing, laughing, and meeting interesting people in moments that feel completely outside of everyday life.”

Daniel attention is currently split between two very different, yet surprisingly connected worlds: interactive product customization for e-commerce and AI-generated commercials and brand films. Both explore the same question of how digital experiences can feel more personal, expressive, and memorable.
That curiosity has recently turned into two new ventures. He’s building a Shopify app that brings interactive product customization to merchants through Rive integration, while also diving into AI commercial video as a service. Whether it’s a product configurator or a brand film, the goal is the same: creating experiences that invite people to engage rather than simply consume.
In Paris, Daniel will share how interactive product experiences can turn customization into something people actually experience. “How an interface can carry emotion and feeling, and turn customization into something people actually experience, where they get to know a product before buying it, wrapped in a beautiful interaction.”
When asked to share a little treasure from his creative journey, Daniel didn’t point to a shader or a code snippet. Instead, he shared a mindset: “Keep building, and at the same time keep exploring, learning, changing, and re-examining both the process and the things I make.” A simple reminder that movement and curiosity are often the most valuable tools in any developer’s toolbox.

For Anderson, WebGPU isn’t just an upgrade, it’s an opportunity to rethink what’s possible in the browser. He’s currently revisiting projects that were once too expensive to run in real time, taking advantage of modern rendering techniques to push visual quality while making them more accessible than ever.
His latest experiments have focused on combining SSGI and SSR for architectural visualization, helping bring high-quality real-time rendering to the real estate industry. Alongside his rendering work, he’s also released r3f-webgpu-perf, a performance monitoring tool for R3F designed to do more than display numbers. It helps developers understand what’s happening inside their scenes and offers real-time guidance on how to optimize them, distilling years of experience into a tool that feels like a personal mentor.
In Paris, he’ll unpack two recent projects, Lumen Decor Studio and CerealBNB, sharing the techniques behind them and the lessons he’s brought over from years of game development. Expect practical insights into building high-performance Three.js experiences without sacrificing ambition.

At Google Chrome, Thomas Nattestad and Natalia Markoborodova spend their days helping shape the future of the web. Right now, much of that future revolves around one idea: HTML-in-Canvas.
Thomas sees enormous creative potential in the API, but also the reality of building new web standards. He’s constantly balancing “unbelievable excitement” about what developers are creating with the challenge of moving browsers forward while preserving the privacy, security, and interoperability that make the web what it is. He’s also been helping introduce the HTML-in-Canvas API through the Chrome for Developers sessions at Google I/O, showing how semantic HTML can be rendered directly into a canvas while remaining interactive and accessible.
Natalia, meanwhile, has been exploring the finer details of the platform, diving into color spaces, display rendering, and testing HTML-in-Canvas across different setups to help improve the API. One of the tools she’s been working with is a color space comparison demo, which lets you see how HTML elements are rendered into canvas across different display configurations. As she puts it, some of the best discoveries start by accident. “I simply embedded a video, and its colors seemed off.” That tiny observation led her into an entirely new rabbit hole of color formats and browser rendering.
In Paris, they’ll approach the same technology from two complementary perspectives. Thomas will explore how HTML-in-Canvas could fundamentally expand the creative possibilities of the web, bringing what he hopes is “a heavy amount of whimsy.” Natalia will show why the API is both “FUN & FUNctional!”, demonstrating how playful interactions and serious engineering can happily coexist.

For Patrick and Justine, inspiration starts with the web itself. They’re constantly drawn to people who are still experimenting, pushing the medium in unexpected directions, and making things simply because they’re excited to see what happens. That’s the same spirit they bring to their own work, blending interactivity, technical innovation, and illustration into playful experiences.
Lately, that creative conversation has taken on a life of its own. They’ve been transforming Justine’s illustrations into small interactive games while experimenting with MediaPipe and hand tracking to make those worlds feel even more tactile and alive. Ask them about their process and they’ll tell you one of their favorite parts is the constant creative ping pong between illustration and development. “A sketch can inspire an interaction, and an interaction can inspire a new visual idea.”
In Paris, they’ll take attendees behind Ponpon Mania, their interactive WebGL comic, sharing how illustration, storytelling, and real time graphics came together to create the experience. Part creative case study, part technical deep dive, it’s a look at what happens when two disciplines keep inspiring each other.

Robin has had two very different things occupying his mind lately. The first is his six-week-old daughter. “I can’t wait to show her the world and hear her say her first word!” The second is AI, and how quickly it’s reshaping the way we build for the web. At his company, designers are now shipping production code with AI coding assistants, something that “would have seemed unimaginable” just two years ago. But for Robin, the fundamentals still matter. “You still need to have a solid understanding of the web’s limitations and, at the very least, understand how the code works and what it does.”
That fascination recently turned into an experiment at work, where he created a Three.js animation that reacts in real time to the voice of an AI assistant. Built with R3F and “a little help from AI,” the project let him literally have conversations with the chatbot while watching his shaders respond to different voices, accents, and speaking styles.
In Paris, Robin will share how AI, Three.js, and a touch of Zelda came together in his latest personal project. His experiments with AI have also produced a few memorable moments, including one particularly stubborn Claude session that reminded him there’s still no substitute for fixing some bugs yourself.

Not everything occupying Julie’s mind lives on a screen. Between decorating a new apartment and experimenting with AI tools for design, she’s been thinking a lot about spaces, both physical and digital. Lately, she’s been exploring how AI can help prototype ideas and breathe life into her designs, approaching it with curiosity even if it’s still unfamiliar territory.
That curiosity recently led her to experiment with an AI-powered tool for creating real-time 3D videos for social media. “Yes, it doesn’t make sense at first,” she says, but that’s exactly what made it fun to explore.
In Paris, Julie will pull back the curtain on the design and art direction behind the Three.js Conference website, sharing the decisions, tricks, and little secrets that shaped its playful identity. And if there’s one lesson she keeps coming back to, it’s this: “Making mistakes and discovering new ideas or techniques as a result of those mistakes is almost part of our weekly routine as designers. It encourages us to constantly learn and try new things we hadn’t thought of before.”

Vicente finds inspiration in unlikely places. Lately, he’s been studying the dynamic panel compositions of manga artist Yusuke Murata, fascinated by how motion can be conveyed in a static image. He’s equally drawn to time-worn structures and the atmosphere they create when placed alongside modern architecture and everyday life.
That eye for movement has recently extended into technology as well. Vicente has been experimenting with different physics engines, and after plenty of testing, one has stood out from the rest. “I really like Jolt,” he says. “In my opinion it should be more popular!”
In Paris, Vicente will take attendees behind the scenes of Messenger, sharing why projects like these are rarely built in a straight line. Instead, he believes the best compass is the emotion you’re trying to evoke, letting that guide every technical and creative decision along the way. It’s a philosophy that also shapes his own process. “I make a conscious effort to regularly view my work with fresh eyes,” he says. Whether that means asking teammates for honest feedback or simply stepping away from a project for a few days, creating a little distance often reveals solutions that were impossible to see before.

If there’s one thing occupying Jean’s mind right now, it’s TSL. He recently went back to the documentation and syntax from the ground up while creating Tour of TSL, a guide designed to help developers better understand the language and its growing ecosystem. Along the way, he’s also hoping to help refine both its syntax and implementation ahead of his presentation in Paris.
His recent experiments span some of the most exciting corners of the Three.js ecosystem. From improvements to Three.js Inspector to nanite-style rendering, fire simulation using voxel grids, and deferred rendering for an upcoming Three.js release, Jean is constantly exploring what the rendering pipeline can do next.
In Paris, he’ll take attendees on that Tour of TSL, focusing on the benefits the language brings to modern Three.js development. Underpinning all of his work is a simple engineering philosophy: “One of the most important things for me is trying to separate the responsibilities of each part of the software to build systems that can be extended individually.”
These are just a few of the people gathering for the very first Three.js Conference. Over two days in Paris, the community will come together to share ideas, demos, experiments, technical deep dives, happy accidents, and probably a few bugs that deserve their own talks.
