While traveling in the streets of Cairo or Qahira/क़ाहिरा, I came across a group of Indians who didn’t look like tourists.

As I inquired, I learned they were heading to Serbia and planning to immigrate to Greece illegally!

What was the plan there? Work on the farm for a few years and during the next round of amnesty become legal!

The plan works, primarily, because southern Europe is devoid of labor and to prevent an outright collapse of agriculture, the local politicians are supportive of illegal immigration.

And, eventually, to increase the tax base, the government brings amnesty every few years.
