I am setting up PVE on a HP Mini PC.
The PC is driectly connected to my google home network's router node, my WIndows 11 PC is on wifi.
I have tried setting an IP in the DHCP range and setting a reservation for it, I have also tried an IP in the subnet but outside the DHCP range.
I have also tried both using the on-board NIC, and a USB NIC, as I saw there are potential issues with the on-board NIC.
Every time I boot the PVE box (and reboot my Windows 11 PC) I am able to access the PVE webUI for a brief period before I am eventially met with the message "Took to long to respond" or a connection error animation. At this point re-boot either PVE or my PC is not enough, I have to reboot both to get the connection up again.
From the Windows 11 PC I am unable to ping the PVE IP address, but from the PVE console I am able to ping the Windows PC, the default gateway and 8.8.8.8 google DNS. These pings from the PVE console work even after the Windows PC has lost the ability to connect.
Can anyone offer any suggestions please?
TIA Phil.
