After i installed PM VE 9 on my Dell Latitude 5500 Proxmox stuck after a reboot on "loading initial ramdisk".
Only after reboot. If i shutdown and start it works like a charme.
I tried to Install 8.4 again, there are no problems.
I also tried to do some things i found at the internet, diesable Secureboot etc..
Nothing work, after reboot, it stuck.
Any ideas ?
You can instruct the kernel to use a different method but you would have to try for yourself which one works:
Maybe a BIOS update or a Linux kernel update (as this is not specific to Proxmox) will fix it in the future. If you want a work-around then search for the kernel parameter reboot= in the Linux documentation: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/v6.8/admin-guide/kernel-parameters.html . Try the various options and see what works for your specific motherboard.
EDIT: This worked for me some years ago until a BIOS update and/or a kernel update fixed it.
Sometimes a BIOS/UEFI update (or a Linux kernel update) fixes such issues.
Bios Update did the trick.
There was one newer version available. After Update the Bios, everything is working, incl. Secure Boot.
Thanks.
