Announcing: BuycatVPN is live. Privacy without Israeli tech.
Afzal · 2025-08-28 · via Tech for Palestine

BuycatVPN is the first VPN built for people who want real privacy without Israeli military ties or spyware history. Download it today via the Boycat app or at boycat.io/vpn and take back control of your data.

Why BuycatVPN exists

Over 1.6 billion people use VPNs to stay anonymous online, whether to bypass censorship, watch geo-blocked content, or protect themselves during sensitive conversations. But much of the VPN industry is not what it seems. Some of the most popular brands are owned by companies with direct connections to military surveillance networks. When the tools you trust for privacy are controlled by the same infrastructure used for mass surveillance, the risk is not theoretical. It is real.

The problem

ExpressVPN, CyberGhost, and Private Internet Access are all owned by Kape Technologies, an Israeli company founded and led by veterans of Unit 8200. Unit 8200 is Israel’s version of the NSA and is known for mass surveillance, blackmail, and AI-driven targeting in Gaza. Kape’s leadership includes individuals with backgrounds in undercover military units and executives who have donated millions to the Israeli military.

Kape’s reach goes beyond VPN ownership. The company also owns “review” platforms like vpnMentor and WizCase, which consistently rank their own products at the top. This creates the illusion of independent recommendations while steering users toward services that may compromise their data.

The tech coming out of Israel is one of the most overlooked threats to digital security. Many Israeli companies, including those now operating from the US or Europe, were founded by former intelligence officers who were trained to spy on perceived threats to Israel. They are part of a system that sees mass data collection as a weapon. The same system that used supply chain vulnerabilities to attack civilians in Lebanon and AI to assist in the bombing of families in Gaza.

Any data that passes through Israeli infrastructure should be considered compromised. If a VPN routes your traffic through their systems, it is not protecting you. It is exposing you and potentially the people you care about.

The answer: BuycatVPN

BuycatVPN was built to be the opposite of that. It is independently developed as part of the Boycat ethical tech ecosystem, with no spyware history, no military ties, and no compromising information. It has been audited for zero data logging and uses end-to-end encryption by default. Ownership is transparent, you know who's behind it.

Who it’s for

BuycatVPN is designed for anyone who uses a VPN and who refuses to hand over their data to companies that could misuse it, even against you. It is for people who understand that online privacy is not just about convenience, but about safety, integrity, and the freedom to speak and act without being watched.

Why now

The links between Israeli tech companies and military targeting are public and well-documented. With so much of the VPN industry already under the control of one company, building and supporting alternatives is urgent. Every day spent on a compromised VPN is another day your data could be accessed, stored, or sold without your knowledge.

Get started

Download BuycatVPN now via the Boycat app or visit boycat.io/vpn. Use it to protect yourself, your work, and your community. Your data is your power. Reclaim it.
