Samsung Display announced today that it will showcase a comprehensive gaming display lineup at COMPUTEX 2026, held June 2-5 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in Taiwan. The exhibition will feature 16 of its latest OLED and QD-OLED products optimized for gaming, ranging from 8.8-inch OLED panels for handheld gaming PCs to 49-inch QD-OLED panels for monitors.

Samsung Display will introduce new laptop OLED technologies, including a slim design optimized for gaming laptops, as well as new QD-OLED products for monitors with industry-leading performance, including the world's first 4K 360 Hz QD-OLED monitor. Visitors will also be able to experience the differentiated display performance of Samsung OLED and QD-OLED through a variety of game content and comparative demonstrations.

'Ultra Slim' Design Meets True Black and Fast Response: Unrivaled Leadership in Laptop OLEDs
Samsung Display will showcase an array of its latest laptop OLED technologies at this year's exhibition. Chief among them is the debut of its 'Ultra Slim' panel. Currently under development for laptops, the Ultra Slim panel reduces module outer-edge thickness by more than 20% compared to company's panels currently in mass production, showcasing Samsung OLED's outstanding design competitiveness.

Samsung Display achieved this slimmer design by etching both the Thin Film Transistor (TFT) substrate glass and the encapsulation glass to reduce their thickness by more than 30%, while also using its proprietary process know-how to resolve the potential warping that can occur when panels become thinner. An ultraslim form factor gives device manufacturers greater design flexibility while improving device portability.

Crucially, the Ultra Slim design achieves this thinness without compromising core performance metrics, such as perfect black expression and rapid response times. Laptops equipped with Samsung OLED have achieved up to the 'True Black 1000' tier under VESA's DisplayHDR certification. DisplayHDR certification is an industry benchmark evaluating HDR performance and deep black expression. To attain the True Black 1000 rating, a display must render blacks below 0.0005 nits while simultaneously reaching a peak brightness of 1,000 nits based on a 10% On Pixel Ratio, or OPR, which refers to the percentage of active pixels among all pixels that make up the screen.

Refresh rate options span from 165 Hz, considered a benchmark for gaming laptops, to 240 Hz, which is currently the highest refresh rate available among laptop OLEDs in mass production. Laptops featuring Samsung OLED can achieve up to the maximum ClearMR 11000 rating from VESA, an index that evaluates motion blur performance by quantifying the ratio of clear pixels to blurry pixels during fast-paced screen transitions and classifying image quality in increments of 1,000. A ClearMR 11000 rating means the display shows 110 times as many clear pixels as blurry pixels during motion playback.

World's First 4K 360 Hz QD-OLED Monitor and Innovative Five-Layer 'Penta Tandem' Technology
For the gaming monitor market, Samsung Display will introduce a QD-OLED product to its customers that simultaneously achieves 4K resolution and a high 360 Hz refresh rate for the first time among self-emissive monitors. While self-emissive monitors supporting either 4K resolution or a 360 Hz refresh rate have existed individually, Samsung Display is the first in the industry to deliver both specifications at once.

Simultaneously driving high resolution and ultra-high refresh rates causes a massive surge in pixel data processing per second, severely straining circuit driving and pixel charging times. Samsung Display overcame these technical limits by optimizing the panel's internal circuitry and drive systems, enabling the development of the highest-spec QD-OLED panel for monitors to date.

The company has also created a dedicated zone to highlight the distinct performance advantages of its 'QD-OLED Penta Tandem ' technology, which was revealed earlier this year. Penta Tandem increases the blue OLED stack structure from four layers to five and applies the latest organic materials, drastically improving the efficiency, lifespan, and luminance of the QD-OLED panel. Monitors utilizing the Penta Tandem panel can render intense in-game lighting and explosion scenes with brighter, sharper clarity, delivering outstanding picture quality even for HDR content that demands simultaneous deep blacks and high peak brightness.

Additionally, the booth will feature the only 34-inch QHD+ self-emissive monitor currently available to earn True Black 500 certification, as well as a monitor product applying a 'V (Vertical)-Stripe' pixel structure designed to enhance text readability. Visitors can explore the exceptional picture quality of various other QD-OLED products, including 27-inch and 31.5-inch panels.

Demonstrating OLED's Technological Advantage in Real Gaming Environments, Alongside Global Game Collaborations
Samsung Display's differentiated technologies will also be showcased through a variety of game content and hands-on comparison experiences. Visitors can experience the advantages of self-emissive OLED technology compared to conventional LCDs through simple mini-games developed in-house using AI. These games highlight fast response times, exceptional shadow detail in dark scenes, and vivid color reproduction, all display attributes that can deepen immersion and help improve performance for gamers.

In a rhythm game where players must hit keys in perfect sync with arrows dropping rapidly down the screen, the fast response time of the 27-inch 500 Hz QD-OLED monitor gives players a competitive edge. Self-emissive displays deliver inherently faster response times than LCDs, which require liquid crystals to physically move. In a game where players solve a mural puzzle inside a dark cave, visitors can experience the superior dark-area gradation of the 31.5-inch UHD (3840 x 2160) QD-OLED and 16-inch OLED displays compared to LCD. In another game where players must distinguish between a brass door and a gold door, they can experience the outstanding color reproduction unique to QD-OLED.

The booth also features collaborations with global game developers and publishers, including KRAFTON, Pearl Abyss, Electronic Arts (EA), and NEOWIZ. In shooting genres like KRAFTON's flagship title 'PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS (BATTLEGROUNDS),' matches are decided in a fraction of a second, making low-latency visual delivery a critical factor. Visitors to the Samsung Display booth can play BATTLEGROUNDS directly on a 27-inch QD-OLED monitor supporting a 500 Hz refresh rate.

To fully enjoy the spectacular graphics of AAA blockbuster games, superior dark-area gradation and high-brightness performance are essential. The trailer for Pearl Abyss's upcoming open-world action-adventure title, Crimson Desert, shown on a 16-inch 2.5K (2560 x 1600) OLED laptop, delivers a visual impact reminiscent of a blockbuster movie.

Furthermore, visitors can play EA's premier racing game, F1 25, on a 49-inch Dual QHD (5120 x 1440) QD-OLED monitor with wide viewing angles, comparing it directly with an identical-sized LCD monitor. Visitors can also enjoy NEOWIZ's signature rhythm game, DJMAX RESPECT V, on a monitor equipped with a 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel, as well as on a handheld gaming PC featuring an 8.8-inch OLED panel.
