It would appear that ASUS' first Wi-Fi 8 router has been revealed ahead of Computex, courtesy of the Taipei Computer Association's Best Choice Award ceremony, which was held last week Friday. ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro carries on the design we've seen over the past few years when it comes to ASUS' top-of-the-range gaming routers, as it looks like a slightly modified GT-BE98 Pro, with a silver and partially see-through top cover. Presumably it'll be a quad band 4x4 router once again, as Wi-Fi 8 or 802.11bn doesn't add any new frequency bands. The promised advantages are up to 25 percent faster throughput and up to 25 percent lower latency, combined with somewhat increased range, seamless rooming and improvements to QoS, in addition to some features that are unlikely to make a difference for consumers.

The ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro should come with 10 Gbps ports, ROG gaming acceleration and some more typical ASUS router features such as AiMesh and AiProtection. Some of you might've noticed that the GT-BN98 Pro doesn't look anything like the concept ASUS showed earlier this year at CES, which suggests it might've been too costly, it didn't bring any real world benefits or it will launch at a later point in time.
