Kensington Launches Entry-Level Thunderbolt 5 Docking Sta...
by TheLostSwede · 2026-05-26 · via TechPowerUp

Kensington, a worldwide leader of desktop computing and mobility solutions for IT, business, and home office professionals, today announced the SD5010T5 EQ Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station, a high-performance Thunderbolt 5 dock designed to make next-generation speeds, multi-display setups, and simplified connectivity more accessible. The SD5010T5 is designed to eliminate bottlenecks in modern workflows, combining high-speed data transfer, multi-display support, and powerful charging into a streamlined, single-cable docking solution.

Up to 80 Gbps Speeds for Data-Intensive Workflows
Ideal for creators, engineers, and business professionals working with large files and demanding applications, the SD5010T5 EQ Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station maximizes productivity by delivering up to 80 Gbps of bi-directional bandwidth, and with Bandwidth Boost enabling up to 120 Gbps for video-intensive workflows.

Triple 4K and Dual 8K Display Support
Providing the flexibility needed for multitasking, content creation, and immersive visual experiences, the SD5010T5 supports up to three 4K displays at 144 Hz, or two 8K displays at 60 Hz for Windows laptops via two HDMI ports and one Thunderbolt 5 port. For MacBook models with M4/M5 base chips and M-Series Pro and Max chipsets, the dock supports two 4K displays at 60 Hz via two HDMI ports, or one 4K display at 60 Hz and one display up to 6K via the Thunderbolt 5 port. When paired with the latest M5 Pro or M5 Max chips, the SD5010T5 is capable of supporting up to three external displays.

Up to 140 W Power Delivery with Single-Cable Charging
The SD5010T5 supports USB-C PD 3.1, ensuring seamless power and connectivity with up to 140 W dynamic power delivery. KonstantCharge enables connected devices to charge even when the laptop is undocked.

Features and Benefits

  • 13-in-1 Design Supports Seamless Connectivity for a Variety of Setups - A single Thunderbolt 5 cable expands a laptop's connectivity options to add two Thunderbolt 5 ports, two HDMI ports, one USB-A 10 Gbps port, two USB-A 5 Gbps ports, two USB-C 10 Gbps ports, an audio combo jack, two SD/Micro SD 4.0 slots, and a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port.
  • Built-in SD and Micro SD Card Readers - Ideal for graphic designers, video editors, and animators, the SD5010T5 provides ultra-fast, efficient data transfer speeds between the built-in SD and Micro S10 Gbps readers and the laptop.
  • Universal Compatibility with Different Devices and Operating Systems - A quick and powerful plug-and-play solution for Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, USB4, and USB-C devices running Windows 11 (23H2 or later) or macOS (14.5 or later).
  • Zero-Footprint Mounting Option and Security Cable Lock Slots - Optional mounting bracket (K34050WW) maximizes desk space by mounting the docking station out of the way, and security cable lock slots are compatible with Kensington cable locks (K65020WW or K65021WW) to protect the investment.
  • Customizable Performance - Free Kensington DockWorks software for Windows users enables users to customize the SD5010T5 to obtain the best connection, performance, and security.
  • Sustainable Design Attribute - The outer case of the SD5010T5 contains 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) aluminium, and the dock is delivered in Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified packaging.

"Thunderbolt 5 sets a new standard for performance, and the SD5010T5 is designed to make that power practical and accessible for everyday professionals," stated Giovanni Sena, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Kensington. "By combining ultra-fast speeds, triple 4K display support, and versatile 13-in-1 connectivity in a single-cable solution, the new dock enables users to fully harness Thunderbolt 5 technology to create more productive, streamlined workspaces."

"As AI workloads, high-resolution content creation, and data-intensive applications continue to accelerate, Thunderbolt 5 technology delivers the bandwidth needed to move data, connect devices, and power multiple displays at unprecedented speeds," explained Ben Hacker, General Manager of the Client Connectivity Division at Intel. "Docking solutions are essential to unlocking that full capability, enabling professionals to fully leverage Thunderbolt 5 performance across devices, displays, and next-generation workflows."

The Kensington SD5010T5 EQ Thunderbolt 5 Triple 4K Docking Station (K35231NA) carries a three-year limited warranty and is available in North America through the Kensington Store and its partner sites.
