At Computex 2026, we walked through the Dato booth, showcasing their latest memory products. We begin our tour with the Ares Armor Lite DDR5 memory series. Very reminiscent of late-2010s memory module designs, it features curvy metal heatspreaders capped by acrylic diffusers for ARGB LEDs. The module comes in 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB making up single- and dual-channel kits. It comes in DDR5-5600, DDR5-6000, and DDR5-6400 speeds.
Next up is the Dato Ares Aethon, a performance-segment M.2 Gen 5 NVMe SSD featuring a chunky aluminium heatsink. The drive appears to be based on a DRAMless controller, and offers sequential speeds of up to 12 GB/s reads, with up to 10 GB/s writes. It comes in 1 TB, 2 TB, 4 TB, and 8 TB capacities. The star of the show is the Ares Aerofin, an enthusiast-segment Gen 5 NVMe SSD featuring an active cooling solution that's 1 cm-thick, and comprises a series of heatsinks with skived fins that are ventilated by a somewhat centrally located 20 mm fan that can turn at speeds of up to 14,000 RPM with a noise output under 22 dBA. The drive comes in 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB variants, with sequential read speeds of up to 14 GB/s and sequential writes of up to 12 GB/s.
