Eject Protection
Mark any volume as protected and Noject will block all ejection and unmount attempts from Finder, Disk Utility, or third-party apps.

Noject
A native macOS menubar app that prevents protected permanently-plugged drives from being (accidentally) ejected, across reboots, sleep, and reconnects.
Lifetime Buy · $4.99 on the App Store · Notarised · macOS 14+
Features
Mark any volume as protected and Noject will block all ejection and unmount attempts from Finder, Disk Utility, or third-party apps.
A lightweight background agent enforces protection even when the UI is closed. Starts automatically on login and survives reboots and sleep.
Noject remembers your protected drives by UUID. Plug them back in at any time, and they are automatically shielded once again.
Right-click any volume in the menubar to quickly Reveal in Finder, or (on protected volumes) use Eject Once (bypass) for a one-shot ejection that leaves your saved settings untouched.
A look inside
How it works
Step 01
Launch Noject and allow the background agent in System Settings. It adds itself to your Login Items automatically so it's always ready.
Step 02
Click the Noject icon in your menubar and flip the switch on the drives that "aren't going anywhere". They are now shielded from ejection.
Step 03
The background agent takes over. You can close the UI and your volumes stay protected across reboots, sleep cycles, and re-plugs.
Languages
Noject is fully localised in 9 languages. It follows your macOS system language automatically. There's nothing to configure.

From the Maker
I spent over a decade building cloud infrastructure, but my most critical storage now sits on my desk: a Mac mini connected to a high-speed NVMe enclosure with RAID arrays.
The problem was simple: I'm constantly mounting and unmounting DMGs and other removable media. In the rush to clean up my sidebar, I'd frequently, and accidentally, eject my RAID volumes. I looked for a utility to lock them down, but popular tools like Mountain or Ejectify were focused on making ejection easier, while I wanted the exact opposite.
So I built Noject to be that missing safety switch.
Noject prevents accidental unmounts of volumes in Finder, Terminal, and other macOS apps, ensuring your most important data is always available. ScaleNinja is my way of shipping infrastructure tools like this, built for power users who care about their data and setup as much as I do.
Compare
Most drive utilities help you eject or auto-eject volumes, often around sleep. Noject is built for the opposite: keeping the drives you choose mounted and protected from accidental ejection.
Mac App Store licences are tied to a personal Apple ID and intended for personal use. For Mac fleets, server farms, and research labs we offer volume licensing, Apple Business Manager distribution, and discounting.
