(NewsNation) — Ten months after legendary rock singer Ozzy Osbourne died, his family is working to keep his memory alive.
Sharon Osbourne, his wife, and Jack Osbourne, his son, are working to create an artificial intelligence-powered avatar of the Prince of Darkness.
The Osbournes announced the endeavor, a partnership with Hyperreal and Proto Hologram, on Wednesday at the Licensing Expo 2026 in Las Vegas.
“Elvis died 50 years ago, and everybody knows Elvis,” Sharon said at the event. “I just want that for Ozzy.”
The digital Ozzy, in the form of a life-sized Proto Luma hologram, will be able to speak with fans, starting later this summer in the United Kingdom and the United States.
“This isn’t pre-rendered content playing on a loop. It’s a living performance, built exclusively from authenticated source material, curated, consented and controlled by the people closest to Ozzy,” said Hyperreal CEO Remington Scott to Rolling Stone.
Hyperreal also created a digital avatar of the late Stan Lee of Marvel Comics, which it premiered at L.A. Comic Con in 2025.
