Job Overview:

We are developing the next wave of compute technologies for future processors. The product we are recruiting for will introduce major breakthroughs in Digital Security, Machine Learning, as well as Computer Vision, and will lead to the most innovative processor ever released!

Interested in building the IP that will radically change the way mobile phones handle digital photography, enabling Neural Networks in any type of application and making the world more secure? Apply now!

Arm’s Sophia Antipolis design centre is located in one of the most alluring parts of France, at the heart of Europe’s largest and most dynamic technology park. Surrounded by mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, this outstanding design centre has delivered leading products from Arm’s AGI and Neoverse processors family.

What could you be doing as a CPU Verification Engineer?

Integrate into a team whose role is to guarantee the correct functioning of the IP, focusing on its accurate functional behaviour in all possible conditions.

Would you like to work in a multi-site and multi-cultural environment? Are you creative, innovative and passionate about new technologies? If so, we would love to hear from you.

You will be accountable for:

  • Understanding the intricacies of the CPU micro-architecture and defining how to push the test boundaries
  • Defining and detailing the testing setup to find bugs in the design; plus specifying the verification sign-off criteria
  • Building and maintaining the testbench using an appropriate methodology and programming language(s)
  • Running tests to stress the design in its last corner cases and identify every potential defect

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Hold (or are on track to hold) a University or Engineering School degree by the programme start date. This can be Masters or PhD in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science. Candidates with alternative degrees will also be considered if they have relevant experience. Other requirements:
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of hardware design and verification
  • Knowledge of hardware description and verification languages e.g. Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog, PSL
  • Proficiency in algorithms and software programming
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, e.g. Python/Perl/TCL
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to work well as part of a team and a willingness to address varied technical challenges

Qualities that will help your application stand out:

  • Formal verification tools and methods
  • Understanding of end-to-end verification processes, from test plan creation to verification closure
  • Experience with RTL and simulators
  • Familiarity with ARM architectures and instruction sets
  • Experience of Unix development environment

Additional Information

We encourage early applications as we review them on a first come/first served basis.

Please note that relocation support is available for this role for domestic moves within the country and regional moves within Europe. Visa sponsorship support is also available for candidates who require it.

In Return:

You’ll receive a starting salary of €45,000 (Bachelor level) or €47,000 (Master level), alongside a comprehensive rewards package. As you develop in role, you’ll have clear opportunities to progress within the salary range at Arm. With mid-year and year-end reviews, you’ll have two formal progression windows each year, recognising your growth.

You can also attend our “Grad-teach-Grads” workshops, guest speaker series, and social events to expand your knowledge. If you’d like to get more involved, you can join the Graduate Committee to further develop your planning, networking, and coordination skills.

You’ll be invited to our Global Graduate Conference (GGC) — an annual event where graduates hear from executive leaders, guest speakers, and build lasting connections.

With many of our leaders and technical specialists having originally joined as aGraduate, will you be next?
