Embedded Build & Release Engineer in Bengaluru at Arm
2026-06-15 · via Working at Arm | Jobs & Careers

The Software (CE-SW) group is responsible for developing and enhancing the software ecosystem for Arm’s next-generation server-class SoCs and reference platforms. This includes working on firmware and system software stacks tightly coupled with cutting-edge hardware technologies.

The Arm Reference Systems DevOps & QA team is seeking a passionate, hands-on Embedded Build & Release Engineer to support the build and release of server SoC firmware stacks. This role plays a critical part in enabling reliable, scalable, and automated delivery of firmware releases to internal teams and external partners.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of embedded software, CI/CD, and release engineering—helping to streamline development workflows, improve software quality, and accelerate delivery for next-generation Arm-based platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain build systems and pipelines for embedded firmware stacks (e.g., TF-A, UEFI, SCP, bootloaders, Linux)
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for firmware build, validation, and release (GitLab/Jenkins)
  • Automate firmware image generation, signing, packaging, and release workflows
  • Collaborate with firmware, platform, and validation teams to debug build, integration, and test issues
  • Enable per-patch and nightly CI workflows to improve code quality and early issue detection
  • Integrate and manage static analysis and compliance tools (e.g., Coverity, Black Duck)
  • Support release engineering activities, including versioning, tagging, artifact management, and partner delivery
  • Improve developer productivity by enhancing tooling, automation, and documentation
  • Drive standardization and scalability across multiple SoC programs and customer releases

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps / Build & Release / Embedded Software environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python scripting and automation
  • Experience with embedded firmware components and platform software stack
  • Solid understanding of C/C++ build systems (Make, CMake) and Linux environments
  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Experience in release management, versioning, and artifact handling
  • Understanding of SoC architecture
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across build and integration issues
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills across multi-functional teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with firmware signing, secure boot, or image generation workflows
  • Familiarity with Yocto/OpenEmbedded or embedded Linux build systems
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and validation pipelines
  • Data analytics and dashboarding for CI/test metrics
