The Vector Institute congratulates all members of the inaugural cohort of the Vector Institute Postgraduate Affiliate Program. Established this year, the program will foster collaboration and contributions among students and researchers with expertise in deep learning as well as machine learning and artificial intelligence more broadly. The Postgraduate Affiliate Program will complement similar programs to be launched for faculty and industry professionals to promote a collaborative environment for sharing ideas and expertise at Vector. The inaugural cohort represents a cross-section of research strengths at different Ontario universities and institutions, and includes Master’s students, PhD students and Postdoctoral Fellows known to be pursuing novel research or applications in deep learning or machine learning.

Applicants were evaluated and selected according to the strength of their past research contributions and the alignment of their interests with Vector’s vision, mission, and research strengths. Postgraduate Affiliates will receive an honorarium to support their participation in and contributions towards Vector events and activities. With a strong inaugural group of Postgraduate Affiliates selected for 2018, Vector will seek to enhance and expand the program, with applications for the 2019 cohort to open at the end of the year.
