Martin Monperrus, WASP recruited Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology has been elevated to IEEE Fellow, effective January 1, 2026, in recognition of his contributions to machine learning–based code assistance and automatic program repair.

The IEEE Fellow grade is one of the organization’s highest honors, awarded to fewer than 0.1% of members each year following a rigorous international evaluation.

Martin’s work has reshaped how software is written and maintained. His early research on intelligent code completion laid the foundations for tools now used by millions of developers. At KTH he continues to drive advances in automatic program repair.
