the configuration was deprecated after 0.9.6 release. In 0.9.6 sftpd.action.hook is not defined. If you want to test the latest features you should use sftpgo-git package, the config file is updated there

According to documentation in the github repo, sftpd.action.command in the config file is deprecated in favor of sftpd.action.hook. But the config file in the AUR package still contains sftpd.action.command.

Was updating the config here forgotten, or is there a reason for this I'm missing?
