I dot not use this Pacman hook anymore (I am using reflector.timer now). I prefer to disown this package.

@mys_721tx: Feature added in 75dfe6a47b08. Please set COUNTRY=All in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-rankmirrors.conf to disable the country filter (it takes times with stock mirrorlist, so that is why it is not set by default).

Would it be possible to disable the country filter if the value is not set? It would be very handy for Arch Linux RM since the fastest mirrors are not necessarily in the same country.

mirrorlist-rankmirrors-hook package replaces pacman-mirrorlist-rankmirrors-hook. mirrorlist-rankmirrors.sh script has been improved.
