Thanks for this wonderful package. But with the latest update, the icon did not act as expected. Betterbird is identified as eu.betterbird.Betterbird so I changed StartupWMClass in betterbird.desktop from betterbird to eu.betterbird.Betterbird, and everythings works as expected.
@betterbird Thank you, it works :)
@bleak: I've updated to build2 now, can you please check that it works. It's my first update, so I'm not sure I got it right.
Yep, updated English package to build2.
I made the necessary changes to .SRCINFO and PKGBUILD, but I can't push them since I'm not a maintainer. I'll try on the English package, where I seem to be listed as maintainer.
I've built the de version again, as predicted, different checksum. You could switch to the en-US package and install a de language pack, or just install the .tar.bz2 from our website. Sorry about all this :-(
Always the struggle with the checksums :) Thanks for Betterbird
Sorry, in the wake of build2 coming, I erroneously removed betterbird-115.15.0-bb32.de.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 from the Betterbird website resulting in the 404. If I were to rebuild it, it still wouldn't install due to a different checksum (sha256). So we need to wait for the maintainer to switch to build2. Sorry for the inconvenience, I'll do it better next time.

You're absolutely right. We made some changes to StartupWMClass/WM_CLASS to cater for FlatPak and Wayland. There changes haven't been completely reflected in AUR. We're planning to set the following: StartupWMClass=eu.betterbird.Betterbird maybe Icon=eu.betterbird.Betterbird and rename the desktop file to eu.betterbird.Betterbird.desktop.
I, the BB maintainer, am currently discussing these changes with the AUR maintainer. As a quick fix, I could push a change to change StartupWMClass, but since the file's checksum is stated in .SRCINFO that would need to change, too. And then it's likely that the pkgrel, currently 1, will need to be increased, too. I'd prefer the maintainer to do it, but he has limited time resources. We'll see. Of course it's not a nice user experience that the icon doesn't work :-(
